A nice hike through a thick, magical looking Sitka Spruce Forest to Hobbit Beach.
The short trail starts across Highway 101 from the small parking area on the left side of the road near mile marker 177.
You will notice the trail becomes very uneven with a number of tree roots to step over.
It is interesting to look at the spooky looking curved trees on the trail.
A tunnel of trees will lead you to the beach on a sandy trail that is lined with sea shells.
Hobbit Beach is secluded and windy with blowing sand.
A trail option at the road sign will take you to Haceta Head Lighthouse a few miles away.

Read moreExquisite area to explore. Two trails that lead through some very interesting terrain. Some rough trails due to exposed roots, but fun non-the-less. You feel so different entering either of the trails. One (1.5 miles) leads to Heceta Lighthouse, while the .5 mile trail goes to Hobbit Beach. It has a number of steps built through for those with some walking difficulties. The beach is wide, allowing the number of visitors to never feel crowded. The return trip can be a wee bit winding, but still just as fun going as coming. Area could make for a nice romantic walk/picnic/rest or just a place to...
