Run by the National Park Service, part of the Department of Interior, this historically significant area is located just off county road 144. A beautiful area with loads of native birds to gaze at and listen to, paths which run along the San Antonio river, a high point that provides an amazing view of a good swath of terrain, and finally, ruins of the mission and out buildings dating to the 1700s. Wonderful opportunity to while away the hours and learn more about the area.

It was cool! It was a free, guided tour with the National Park Service. We met at the Floresville event center, then caravanned out. It was great to learn about early ranching, Indigenous, and the archeology and oral histories. It’s a very easy walk, there are uneven surfaces, but it was nice experience. The tour was free and we had to sign up and reserve a spot. Our tour guide was amazing!
