A lovely 0.4 loop trail where one can see mahogany trees (as the name suggests) as well as strangler figs in a hammock on the edge of the Shark Valley slough. Compared to the other trails, this one is a little more run-down, but still well-maintained. Note that this area does have the most insects and bugs, so wearing insect repellent is recommended. The part leading to the loop trail is also quite nice as one can see a riparian environment with the sawgrass

A short little trail that takes you through one of the last free-standing mahogany groves or "hammocks" in the state of Florida. It is a boardwalk trail that is flat and I would rate it wheelchair accessible. The walk takes an hour at the very most and has plenty of info-graphic interpretative plaques along the way.

I had been wanting to do this boardwalk for a few years but had not made it. This year we walked the boardwalk and did enjoy ourselves. It is very tame and easy to do. In February 2023 there were few bugs and it was nice and shady with the large trees being very pretty. I'm glad that I stopped in, but when we return to the park I don't think that I will walk it again as I prefer a trail to...

Highly recommended! This is a great change of pace trail. The glades are beautiful, but can feel a bit uniform. This trail provides a dense canopy of trees that not only gives you a fresh experience, but also provides the often needed reprieve from the sun. My son and I found it to be quite peaceful and serene. He even had a an encounter with a Barred Owl who made its...
