Blue Springs Park is a natural spring that is open from 10 am to 7 pm, 7 days a week from April to September usually. Admission is $2 a person, children under 5 are free. There is a dock, sand pit, swing sets, picnic areas, and a snack bar. The spring has a major swimming area that has a wading area, a shallow end, and a deeper end. There is supposed to be hiking paths, but I'm not sure where they are as we didn't see them or anybody using them. Pets, fishing, alcohol, and snorkeling are not allowed. They say no football or other such sports, but we saw people passing a football and nobody said anything about it. We went on Memorial Day weekend, which also happened to be the weekend before school let out. Needless to say it was very busy! But not uncomfortably so. All of the picnic areas were taken, but we were able to find a place to sit. There were a lot of people but there was enough room in the spring for everybody. All of the picnic areas were taken, but people were very accommodating to each other with the barbecue grills. The dock and grounds were very well maintained and the water was clear and cool. Perfect for a hot Florida day. From what we saw, it seemed like a popular spot for birthday parties. Be ready to walk when parking, though. The parking lot is small, as is the park in comparison to other springs. This may be okay during off times, but during peak days, you'll need to park on the side of the road and walk a bit before getting to the spring. The staff was very busy in the snack bar and not able to come around the park very much. The bathrooms could be better cleaned. They did come around when the crowd lightened up a bit to clean and maintain the areas. I can't help but feel like they're staffed for the lighter times and get their butts kicked in the busy times. I'm also not a fan of the fact that it's cash only. The admission is cheap, but we don't carry cash normally and had to go out of our way to get some. As much as the crowd was decent enough to each other, the sheriff did have to come by a couple times and remove groups. There was also the unmistakable smell of weed. Being a family location, you'd think that people... you know... had some restraint. I guess not. I suggest going here during the off times when it's not so busy. You can go during the peak times, but expect to have to have to deal with a lot of people (those of us with social anxieties understand how much work that is) and overworked, yet still...
Read moreTo be honest really nice place to swim good water alot of good kids. The staff are cool there not rude or agressive. The staff are strict if you are doing stuff you shouldn't be doing you can get kicked out. Some ice cream is 1$ alot of it all is cheap most under 10$ unless your buying a tee shirt. Bathroom rooms could be bigger there not to big. There is a big dock to jumb off of, also alot of parking spots. The place can get crowded after a little bit I would say around 12-4 is busy hours (off of my experience). Water is clear, clean, deep, and some shallow spots. There's a park for kids not to big, it's the average size you would expect. There's quite a few spots to sit sometimes you might have to sit in the sand or find a spot because there's not to many spots to go at. I would recommend getting there at 9:30, 30 minutes before they open so you can be first with a good spot. It would be a excellent spot for a birthday party or a party with friends. No showers but it's the spring water you shouldn't get to dirty, other than that it is a excellent place to go I would...

The park looked to be absolutely packed when we pulled up. Cars were down the main drive parked all over. EMS was leaving and when we found parking and walked up, we noticed lots of people walking in and out as well as specific parking for LEOs, which was occupied.
That said, the park still has lots of space and the water was busy but room for more. The main building collects your $2 to enter and offers basics snacks.
People were playing volleyball, grilling, and having a great time. It was hot, but this didn't slow anyone down. We are really looking forward to coming back and enjoying...
