Wildlife here is spectacular especially if you venture out for sunrise. The Withlacoochee cycling and walking trail runs through the pine forests, swampland and lakeland's for 46 miles of wide, traffic free paved path which is in excellent condition and they even blow the leaves off it as necessary. This is a real gem of Hernando and Citrus Counties. Floral City, roughly midpoint on the trail has a lovely little gallery which is free to visit and serves very high quality freshly cooked food at a very good price. The owner is also very interesting if you have time to stop for a chat and the art work is well worth seeing. Definitely an area of...

I rode the new paved Good Neighbor Trail GNT. I have been on it twice so far. If you enjoy bicycle riding, walking or skating through woods this might be right up your alley. The trail ends in Brooksville. I have not been that far yet. The trail connects to the Withlacoochie rail trail. If you park at Ridge Manor trail head there is water and bathrooms. With many fast food restaurants nearby. The Trail connects about 6 miles north. The entrance to the Croom Mtn bike trails has parking next the Withlacoochie. This parking is only about 1 mile north of the connection to the GNT. Excellent ride. Good for every...

This is an excellent place for riding off-road dirt bikes and atvs only. It's 2600 acres of fun filled trails, with lots of sand and some old mine pits that have some technical hills. This is one of my favorite places to ride, and i have been riding in 14 states. There are a couple of beginner areas for kids. The campground has water with 30/50 amp. Also, bath house and a dump station. Dogs are Not Allowed. It's well managed with friendly rangers that have responded quickly to any issues. I have been coming to this place for over 50 years, and I always have...

Really nice little camp ground! Not too expensive, but well kept and quiet. The signage is a little unclear the further back you go, however, which can make it difficult to navigate at night if you’re unfamiliar. We stayed st the Crooked River Campground, which is the furtherest back in the site. We couldn’t find the camp host our first night either, which was unusually. But over all, we have a lovely experience and will definitely be back. If you’re looking to experience untouched Florida beauty, this is definitely the place to visit!
