We decided last minute to take this airboat ride. The lady at the concession stand was very nice and said they had room on a tour that was leaving in 10 minutes. We should have passed. We were merged with a nice group of folks that were in town for a wedding. They were the best part of the tour. Our guide, Louis (he's still there) steered the boat running through the edges of the reeds where there was plenty of room to go around and not have the reeds and what ever, hit the people sitting on the ends of the seats. After stopping the boat in a shallow area and telling us some tails he had trouble restarting the engine. He finally got it going and low and behold, he stopped it again after a short distance to chat. Yep, the battery died or some other issue was preventing the engine from starting, We ended up sitting there about an hour waiting for someone to bring out another boat so we could transfer into and continue our tour. Or so I thought. After we climbed onto the other boat we went straight back to the dock. He said we should feel lucky as they weren't going to charge us more for the extra time. I know he was kidding, but this was a terrible experience and we were not offered any money back. a refund, or even another ride for a future date. This was a terrible waste of 2 hours. Louis was most likely still celebrating the results of the election as he said he refuses to drink Bud Lite even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been here once before about 11 years ago and I am so happy to say nothing has changed! The tour is still an hour long and everyone is still so friendly and welcoming. My mom, 1 year old son, Isaiah and I had the pleasure of having Captain Brady as our tour guide today. He made us laugh the entire time and never rushed us while we were taking a billion photos of the wildlife we encountered. Brady knew exactly were to find these animals and always made sure to point them out and stop for us to have a look. One of the most exciting encounters on our tour would have to be seeing the many baby alligators with there mom. They were absolutely adorable and Captain Brady let us take our time and enjoy seeing these marvelous creatures up close and personal! Eaglebay is by far the best place around to take a adventure on a airboat ride. If time allowed and we were in town longer we would most certainly go back and request another tour with the funny and adventures Captain Brady.
From the Salinas/Sturtz family, we would like to say a huge "THANK YOU" to you captain Brady and the Eaglebay Airboat rides staff! Keep up the amazing tours and we hope that things don't change to much until the next time we are able to make another trip...

My parents had actually done an airboat ride decades ago, same company I think maybe different owners. We used to live locally in Stuart area but we were always in Okeechobee. Now we live in Northern Florida. We come down to visit with family and sometimes we like to stay in Okeechobee.
We had called another local company/airboat charter company. They didn't even have the common grace to ever return our phone call or message. So I guess with that business attitude we can see why you all have such great reviews and the locals were even telling us how great you all are.
Captain Troy was a delight. You can tell that he loves what he is doing and that he is knowledgeable of the area and the wildlife. My daughter, mother and nephew had a blast. Captain Troy went out of his way to make sure the kids were enjoying themselves he was telling them all kinds of things and he kept them...
