Joe Budd Wildlife Management Area — Attraction in Florida

The campground is in need of improvement in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael but it is still in relatively good shape. There are no RV/Camper hookups or wastewater disposal at this site and no potable water supply. There are primitive male/female toilet facilities. The public fishing pier and concrete boat launch are in good condition. Tent areas and fire ring at sites. $2 per day use fee. Raccoons and Opossum do sometimes roam the grounds at night, although I have not heard/seen any warnings of rabid animals. The school kids loved it. They were allowed to fish for an hour, helped with hooks and bait and even caught some fish! Catch and release. While one group fished, another group collected water from the pond to look for bugs under microscopes, and the 3rd group learned about wildlife and how to protect it.
