SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Sumter County deputies arrested a 60-year-old man accused of attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old girl Friday evening.
Man accused of kidnapping 10-year-old Kevin Ramsey charged with attemtped kidnapping The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. at Lake Okahumpka Park, located at 6085 E SR 44 in Wildwood.
The victim told authorities that a tall, older white male, wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans, grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her with him. The suspect was later identified as Kevin Ramsey.
Police said the young girl was able to get away by hitting Ramsey and ran to her home, a short distance away. Police said she suffered a minor injury during the incident.
She also told police that the suspect ran after her briefly but then fled to his vehicle, a tan 2002 Chevy Malibu.

Its clean, well kept and well used. Take Fido there and you'll find Doggie stations and great walking paths. They have a 9 hole Frisbee Golf area, clean grills with covered tables. The bathrooms are convenient, clean and handicapped accessible. The boat launch is very easy to use with only a slight grade which makes it easy. Plenty of parking including handicapped parking. Read moreThis place gets a 11 out of 10 for rating. We had the beat experience here. This park had everything. I mean from a boat ramp, to a picnic area, to a tennis court, to the trail. It had everything you need for a day out with your family. The trails had a little stop along the way for workout stations too. We took the shorter trail and then ended up walking the longer route too. You can walk anywhere from .3 miles to 1.25 here. There was a lot of Nature and we went It was littlely rainy so that made it so much more picturesque. We loved the whole trip to this park. There was a spot for your pets.
