This is the second year in a row that the same lady at the gate has treated me badly. I explained to her that I am part of the crew for a team and thats why I need to park as close as possible to them that's why I come down on Tuesday to get a good parking place for my motor home. She told me that when I pull in the pit, I need to turn right and park at the return road in the grass. Then she found out that me and my wife is handicap Veterans this is the second year she made me park my handicap vehicle in the handicap ♿️ parking at the front gate. I explained that I was parking my RV and going to Miami because I have two sisters in the hospital, and on Saturday, I have to be in Lakeland for a funeral. She said she don't care she leave In a hour if my handicap vehicle is not in the handicap spot I better be back at the gate paying $100 dollars or the security will be to my RV. I drove from Georgia to get here and needed some sleep before I drive to Miami in the morning.one of the employee's that work on the starting line explained to her that my team is going to be on the new asphalt. She said I need to park by the return road I went to the return road all the area was roped off, reserved with caution tape everywhere so I parked at the back fence drove my vehicle back to the gate to let her know that I was parking my car in the handicap spot and walking in the rain back to my motorhome, where my wife was waiting for me to start the generator, and sit the RV up so we can get a little sleep before driving to Miami. Then woke up and walked to the front gate as a handicap Veteran so I can go pick up my handicap Veteran wife so we can drive to Miami later then plan because i was tired and hurting from the walk. Last year, her and Ozzie's son made me park on the spectators side they park my handicap vehicle in the handicap spot. I had to walk where my team was located at the quarter mile in the grass. When I asked to talk to Oizzy, she and the son said that this is his rules. I have been coming here for 30 years. To get treated like this I have been racing or part of a team but when Mr Ozzie own Valdosta I went though the same thing and did nothing wrong that Mr Oizzy and his wife came and apologized to me and my wife because it was Valentines 💝 😀 💙 ❤️ 😊 weekend and I am there early to get a parking space and the guy pass all the Empty parking spaces to park me behind the circle track last year, Mr. Oizzy apologized to me last year in front of his son from the gate, and then he let her do it again. I said I'm the guy that your Dad apologized to in front of him she wouldn't let him talk then I came back from the funeral the security guard checked the wristbands and handicap tag and told me to go ahead. Then when I passed her she yelled out stop to security he handicapped she said he don't have a sticker on the windshield this is personal. I don't know what I did to deserve this. Once I get in the race track here or Valdosta there is no problems the people at the gate make the organization look bad and money hungry I am a 29 year Veteran and my wife is a veteran and a NHRA and IHRA licensed driver with a lot of respect in the drag racing world and I protect my brand and my name and make no problem with no one to go through this. They are employee's that is not into racing, and they are running spectators and teams away and emptying the stands and not being a good Stewart of the owner and what he and his wife stand for. Check the track with all the updated/upgrades. The owners and track are going in the right direction to bring the crowd and racers BIG TV, ASPHALT, BLEACHERS 5 STARS on the owners and track, then employees to destroy what they're trying to accomplish and and not listen to reason and say this is what Mr. Ozzie told her to do to the crew member who is disabled veterans. She has to be the track manager when the owners son has no say-so. She gave all the other crew members' crew stickers, let them park anywhere drop trailers and drive truck all over without paying a...
Read moreOne of the best hooking tracks in FL. Some of the best events in the world are hosted here and it's home of many of the world records in the drag racing world. With that being said; the track doesn't get 5 stars due to its numerous other shortfalls. One of which is the parking situation; essentially when you park at this track unless you park in VIP on one of the paved areas on the racing side of the track you will be forced to park in grass that is typically very wet and muddy. The entire area that the track is in is low-lying, consisting often of standing water. As shown in one of the pictures that I uploaded; my car was stuck in the mud in the parking lot. To make matters worse; the track does not help people who are stuck and they have absolutely no services in regards to their parking other than people who direct you where to park. Second problem is with food; this place has only one Cafe and events can easily draw more than 10,000 spectators. The lines to get food can span hours long and often the cafe will run out of food and drinks at large events. The third problem is with communication; as a spectator (and sometimes a racer) you will have absolutely no idea which class is racing due to the sheer volume of noise at a track. When you figure that there can be more than ten thousand Spectators combined with race cars.... the noise floor is extremely high and the loud speakers are simply not enough. At the event yesterday (world sport compact challenge) there were multiple Racers who did not show up for their classes to race. Causing a delay in the entire event while they sent Representatives to go try and find and notify the teams so that they would be able to race. While this is a problem at some other tracks also; it is a specific problem at this track due to its sheer size and lack of well placed speakers. Other than the three aforementioned problems; this is honestly one of the most awesome tracks on the planet. If you come to a large event here you can almost be certain that a world record will be broken.
Just be sure to bring some cash as entrance fees are only...
Read moreIt was my first time at the Orlando Speed World Speedway (Dec 2018). I had a get time. I only have two complaints. As a person who works in the medical profession it made me extremely nervous and worried to see so many spectators standing around the staging lanes and starting line. I personally think it should be limited to 5 persons per car and they must work directly with the car and driver not just spectators who are friends or family of the driver and/or owner of the car. Based on what I have seen it's just a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt up at the line. I've gone to many other speedway which have special arm bands just for the driver and 5 personnel directly involved with the car. Those speedways are very strict about keeping unnecessary extra people out of the staging lanes and starting line. My second complaint is about the announcer. I personally don't go to any speedway wanting to hear sexual comments of any kind. That's unprofessional. This is not a complaint, it's a suggestion: the parking for all vehicles need to be more defined. Race cars with crews, VIP parkers, extra where parking any which way. Another suggestion would be to visit the Galot Motorsports Park in Benson, NC to get an idea of their parking area for race cars with crew. I know it would cost a great deal of many to revamp the parking areas but the investment long term would be worth it. Any way I hope to return for the 2019 No Guts No...
