I lived in pelican point over 13 years. Pelican point has the usual HOA shenanigans going on, and usual restrictive rules. No big deal.
Pelican Pointe homes are all tightly packed together, so you will know your neighbor rather well... Perhaps better than you want to.
Food served at the clubhouse, restaurant, special events... IS AVERGAGE, AT BEST...You have been warned!
The golf course is allegedly above average... That's what the golfers tell me.
I have just recently moved to Myakka Valley Ranches... 6 acres of good land! I will never go back!
Pelican point is nice, if you like tract-style homes and golfing.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood practice area with range balls included with round. Excellent pace of play but I had an early tee time and the two members I played with said it was unusually fast play. I played Preserve/Hatchet Creek courses. Both were in terrific condition and the greens were nice. The Preserve is mostly lined with houses, but the Hatchet Creek course has a few holes which feel more like you are just on a golf course and not playing in a planned community. Saw lots of beautiful wildlife on the Hatchet Creek course too. I enjoyed it, but for the price Iād rather drive the extra 20 min and play...
