Didn't get to see any alligators, but it was still a nice peaceful place to cruise on the boat at. Seen whole tree trunks float down stream that could potentially be a hazard or dangerous if you didn't see them as you were coming either up or down the river. There was one that was barrel rolling perpendicular to the river and then another had followed by after some time in between the first one and it was spinning or rotating with the flow of the current! They looked to have been freshly broken off the stump somewhere along upstream from where we stopped to swim!... Just always pay attention to detail when your boating there! Other than that it' s a beautiful...

Ray's is an awesome place to launch from or end your trip at via kayaking. I'm only saying via kayaking as that is what my experience is in. The first photo is a little guy catching a ride on my head 🥰 he was struggling in the water. At some point, he must have jumped on a limb I went under. The other pictures are a kayaking trip launching from Ray's paddling against the current to Silver Springs. Btw would not recommend for beginners to go against the current it can be a beast at times. They launch from Ray's to Gore is absolutely beautiful as well. I didn't take any pictures other than my buddy hitching a ride. Next time I paddle that route, I will take...

This was a great experience, I brought my own kayak and decided to go up the spring to flow back down. ( it appeared there were kayak rentals at the Silver Spring part with a shuttle that takes you and the rented kayak back up stream) It did take most of the day with the current but it was such a pleasant time. great pictures overall and we were able to see the Monkeys in the afternoon when it was more overcast - it may have been too hot in the morning with the sun out.

Before going upstream we went down to see where the spring meets the river and that was a very cool sight. I would absolutetly love to...

Typically quiet.. minimal bugs until dusk.. no fishing from dock, and its near 40 so you occasionally hear larger trucks, but it is inexpensive if you walk or bicycle in.. technically $1.. but, as long as you aren't blatantly rude or breaking any FWC laws, they don't bother you if you stay at the waters edge, or walk the grounds for hours. Leave your vehicle and hop on a vessel without paying, park in the wrong place without a trailer, fish from the dock, disobey the no wake zone, or trash the water/grounds? Yeah, that's just dumb and FWC frequents.
