Updated review with more detail (now that we are back home and I have replaced my pickpocketed phone :): Fun - 5 stars: my family really enjoyed this. The boat ride was super fun. My kids wanted to skip everything else we had planned and just do boat rides and look for wildlife all day. Boat guide - 5 stars : really, he deserves more than that. He was informative all on his own, but really showed he knows his stuff by answering all of my family's questions, which were many. My husband was NOT a fan of Ft Lauderdale, in general, but said he would fly back just to do the night tour. Seeing wildlife - 5 stars: of course, the tour company has absolutely no control over the animals. What I liked was that alligators were not the only focus. Every animal we saw was noted as well as its characteristics. Also, the guide was able to tell us about their role in the ecosystem. Store personnel were very nice. The bathrooms were clean. Boats and store/location were clean and seemed to be in good repair. All curbs and steps clearly painted with yellow. There were good non- slip mats at every ramp. (Yes that's important! It shows that the owners and operators care about the safety of their visitors as well as complying with laws that govern such establishments. It isn't a 'fly by night' operation, but a place that is truly cared about.) I had previously mentioned the exhibit smelling badly and the man giving the exhibit tour speaking really fast. While it is true because of the swampy water (thanks for the reply, Sawgrass!), it doesn't affect the joy we had in the tour overall. Honestly, the elephants and giraffes at big city zoos smell bad, too. My kids, even my 16 year old, did love the opportunity to see the baby alligator close up. We would definitely go again. I have more questions I didn't get to ask. ;)

It was one of our favourite activities we did on our trip to Miami! We booked through Miami Tours to get a bus there (but I think you can drive yourself as well and just get a ticket there) Our airboat captain was amazing and very knowledgeable about all the animals in the Everglades. It was really informative and riding around was really fun, it felt like flying! They provided earplugs because airboats are loud (duh, they're giant fans), but you could hear the captain fine when the boat was stopped. Didn't see any alligators on the water (rare to see them when it's bright out and hot!). But they have a lovely exhibit of rescued alligators and a few other animals. (Prepare yourself to see the biggest alligator you've ever seen- he was literally huge, reminded me of a dinosaur). They had a little show where a staff got into the habitats with the alligator and gave a little presentation. They also had baby alligators to pet. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly 😊 They also had a good truck style cantine with alligator tacos (my partner loved them) and other simple bites. Great little day trip!

Excellent Experience Sawgrass Rec Park is family owned and has very friendly staff. We visited on a weekday when it was overcast and they told us we may not see any gators. Nick our airboat Capitan proved the check guys wrong. He took us out into the Everglades and we spotted a Gator lazing. Warning the airboats are REALLY loud and I highly recommend you wear the ear plugs they give you. We also saw a few snake birds and a pair of Ospreys. It was a worthwhile airboat trip. Took about 40mins. The other great part of the visit (part of your ticket) is the Gator exhibit. Shane their Rescue expert was super friendly and knowledgeable. We saw a few juvenile gators up close and even got to hold and pet the 4 year old gator. You can also see a huge 13 foot gator in their exhibits (they have quite a few others too). Stop by and catch up with Tim, one of the owners. He's super friendly too!! All in all a wonderful experience at this rescue facility as yhey are helping the gators get a good home.

We saw lots of gators on our tour this January. We felt very safe in the airboat and captain disco was very informative and an amazing captain. He took us right up to several gators and gave us ample photographing time while still being respectful of the gators. We were super impressed with his driving of the boat especially when he docked it seamlessly. He warned us that there's no breaks and it's more of a "controlled crash" but not only brought it in smoothly but somehow expertly backed it in. We also loved the animal exhibits and the staff answered all of our questions they were very friendly and knowledgeable. We visited once over ten years ago and both times we have enjoyed ourselves. We were able to pet a small gator and a boa which was super fun. Our immediate group was all adults but there were all ages on our boat and everyone had fun. They had lifejackets mandatory for younger kids and available lifejackets for everyone just in case. Earplugs were provided. Definitely recommend!

We had an amazing experience on the Sawgrass Airboat Tour! The weather was perfect, and our captain, Johny, made the trip even more enjoyable with his knowledge and humor. We were fortunate to spot an alligator and a wide variety of beautiful birds during the tour. The pricing was reasonable at $26 for adults and $16 for kids, making it a family-friendly adventure. In September Broward county has BOGO and this adventure is part of it l, for extra savings. The were interesting exhibits to explore. The cleanliness of the bathrooms was a pleasant surprise, and the souvenir shop offered a variety of mementos and drinks to cool off. There is plenty of parking. Although we didn't dine at the ice cream truck or cafe, it's nice to know they were available. We left with cherished memories of this fantastic tour. We highly recommend the Sawgrass Airboat Tour for a fun and educational adventure in the Florida Everglades!

This was a phenomenal experience. The airboats and time out on the everglades are certainly unique as you feel like you're gliding along marshland and essentially an area that looks like land, but isn't and you're able to see all kinds of wildlife including alligators and aquatic birds. In addition, there is a rescue facility with animals in captivity that have been rescued from various encounters. The staff are very good presenters and hosts and you truly are entertained as you see large animals and their attempts to interact with them. They also let you touch a baby alligator and teach you more about respecting them as the powerful animals they are. Overall, it's a way to be connected with the outdoors at a place that doesn't feel like the hackneyed trails or hiking that might be representative of more traditional outdoor experiences. I would definitely recommend visiting!
