This is the last parking lot at the north/east end of Folly Beach and is closest to the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve. There is a small parking area with a kiosk to pay for the space. I don't know how aggressive they are or how much the fine is for not paying, but I would guess it's a major revenue source.

Other than a boardwalk to get over the dune without disturbing it, there are no other features here. No toilet, shower or benches. Unless you take good care, you will be tracking sand back into...

Folly Beach is beautiful, but be prepared for the traffic in the summer. With only one, 2-lane road to get on and off the island, traffic can back up for 2 or more miles during the summer, especially the weekends. Parking is another issue to deal with. There is free, road-side parking, but keep the tires off the road, park in the direction of traffic, and heed the no parking signs. Also, paid parking is available. To beat the traffic and find parking, come out very...

I went in January and it was so gorgeous. Genuinely breathtaking. Every entrance point had a trash can and a dog bag holder right on the small bridge to get into the beach. There's a parking lot and street parking, and you are able to pay online. Its pretty cheap!

I will for sure go again - just not during spring break or...

I went in January and it was so gorgeous. Genuinely breathtaking. Every entrance point had a trash can and a dog bag holder right on the small bridge to get into the beach. There's a parking lot and street parking, and you are able to pay online. Its pretty cheap! I will for sure go again - just not during spring break or during summer.
