Public Beach Access - Summer Place — Attraction in Folly Beach

This is the last parking lot at the north/east end of Folly Beach and is closest to the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve. There is a small parking area with a kiosk to pay for the space. I don't know how aggressive they are or how much the fine is for not paying, but I would guess it's a major revenue source.

Folly Beach is beautiful, but be prepared for the traffic in the summer. With only one, 2-lane road to get on and off the island, traffic can back up for 2 or more miles during the summer, especially the weekends. Parking is another issue to deal with. I went in January and it was so gorgeous. Genuinely breathtaking. Every entrance point had a trash can and a dog bag holder right on the small bridge to get into the beach. There's a parking lot and street parking, and you are able to pay online. Its pretty cheap!
