This is the last parking lot at the north/east end of Folly Beach and is closest to the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve. There is a small parking area with a kiosk to pay for the space. I don't know how aggressive they are or how much the fine is for not paying, but I would guess it's a major revenue source.

With only one, 2-lane road to get on and off the island, traffic can back up for 2 or more miles during the summer, especially the weekends. Parking is another issue to deal with. Read moreI went in January and it was so gorgeous. Genuinely breathtaking. Every entrance point had a trash can and a dog bag holder right on the small bridge to get into the beach. There's a parking lot and street parking, and you are able to pay online. Its pretty cheap!
