Tallgrass Prairie Preserve Visitor Center — Attraction in Foraker

Such a wonderful place! We saw a lot of bison on the way to the visitor center. The docents were very knowledgeable and friendly, a huge thanks to Jim and his wife for the nice conversation and answering all of our questions. Make sure to check in the website in their calendar to see if there will be a volunteer present on the day you’re planning to visit.

I would always recommend to come here and just take in the breathtaking views of the tallgrass prairie and the beautiful animals...

Our Wildlife Conservatory host was very friendly and informative. Though we came on a day when the bison were in their yearly round up so we didn't get to see them up close (our binoculars helped). Our hike through the tall grasses yielded a number of views of deer that coexist with the bison and other wildlife. Best to go (if you want to see bison and their young calves) before November. If you're in the area of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, do yourself a favor and visit the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. Absolutely gorgeous landscape with lush grasses, wildflower, and wildlife flowing over rolling hills.
