Sites are right by the water and plenty of space. Reservations were easy and camp host was great. We were late arrivals passing through but he was still very kind and accomidating for us. As this is a county park it does not appear they spray for mosquitoes. Arriving late we had to setup in complete darkness or we were quickly surrounded by bugs. Even in complete darkness you would hit them.
Daytime would not swam you but you could still easily see them collecting if you had not sprayed down. While this is not a suprise this time of year it was worse here than other sites in the same trip. Camping here requires a screened in tent to be outside even during the day. Easy water access for small boats from what I could see but we didnt access. Sites were wide with enough space but not 100% clear seperation between them. From the pic this is 2 sites wide. Sites are somewhat level and grass. I would return without the wife and a headnet but I liked the view and...
Read moreWe have absolutely fallen in love with this campground. Many of the sites are right on the lake so we were able to head to the beach right from our site. There is a playground but it’s a bit dated but with the beach right there, my kids did not care about the quality of the playground. The campground also has showers and laundry facilities. A great location to stay and drive a short distance to check out Escanaba. We will...

While $40 is a lot more than i am used to paying to camp, I'm 20 feet from Lake Michigan, and it's beautiful. the bathroom and showers are so clean, and the hosts are nice as can be. some folks staying longer term came to say hi and ask about our plans. I am so happy to stay here and recommend for others who want to be...
