This park is in an amazing space. Side of a hill yet its atop the residential district adjacent FGH. It's a noteworthy view to the East for sun and moon risings. I'm suggesting to all who read this; that we encourage our elected officials and the owner(s) of the field [uphill west of the park to the eastern border of the Masonic burial grounds], to reach an agreement to purchase and develop it into the continuation of the park. We can also talk with the neighbor(s) downhill about the benefits of topping their tall trees obstructing a significant portion of the most lower field of the Eastern horizon-as viewed from the highest vantage point in the park presently. The super full moon rising (3) '4ths of July's' ago was epic! This we viewed from the top of the aforementioned field in stones throw distance from the circle platform where fireworks were once detonated. Shhhh, don't say it.....don't argue, just smile and dream with me believing we can have our cake and...
Read moreThis park is a nice one and the grass is kept up. There’s a small winter area (see picture with the bark), a larger small dog area, and a big open area for the mixed doggos. Inside the large mixed dog area is agility equipment. I do see people bring their kiddos and they have something to play on too! There’s plenty of water available, trash cans/bag stations are provided and close enough to where you’re not having to walk outside the park or trek however long to a trash. There’s plenty of parking. There’s also a baseball field and nature trails right outside the dog areas. There aren’t really paths (paved or dirt), but the parking lot is paved, walk to the park is paved, and there’s the area under the gazebo thing that’s paved (James in the pic is lying on it).
I will note- I do find a lot of people at this particular location with intact dogs, more so than other parks we have been to.
James gives it...
Read moreI went there with my toasted loaf from coast to coast. Aka my golden Retriever. It was a very fun experience. There is more than enough room for forty-eight dogs to run around. Sometimes there are other dogs there, and depending on the owners, it can be pretty hectic because all you see is a bunch of dogs running around all over the place. It is split off into sections in case your dog does get too rowdy and you decide to move it somewhere more secluded. They have a nice covered area with chairs and benches in case you have to go and eat there. There's a trail that goes around the park, and that is a great place to go and have a nice secluded picnic. It's very peaceful and quiet in there. The sprinklers do turn on at a certain time, so be aware of that in case your dog does not like the mist or you don't want to come home...
