I almost don’t want to review this nature area lest it become any more popular. The paths are extremely well marked, the quality of the signage is better than any I have seen in Michigan and beyond. The mixed forest environment is wonderful, and that much more so because it was relatively free of people (and mosquitoes) for a summer Sunday. I would recommend Glacial Hills to all for both hiking and biking. The variety of routes available is excellent, with lots of optional loops. The options range from short and nearly level strolls, to very long, moderately strenuous, hikes with lots of elevation changes. Thanks to all the local volunteers who take such good care...

Use the route finder on Trail Forks to see what these look like or there is a map at the trail head. Consider leaving a small donation at trail head to help support the world class...
Read moreWe did the bear den trail and out of the 20 hikes we took in this area during our visit, this one was the stand out best. Ups, downs, twists, turns, diverse terrain changes and types of forest, at least 40 different fungi, wildlife viewing opportunities, and an exhilarating, challenging hike, without being too difficult or any of the steep, leg burning uphill battles many hikes like this tend to have. It would be worth it to make the six hour trip back north just to get to hike this trail again, that's how...
