After seeing a write up in 405 magazine, I was excited to check it out! We had a great time...My husband and I stayed here at the RS Kerr suite for our Valentine's Weekend and my birthday celebration. The grounds are just lovely, and Matthew and Sharyn really go the extra mile to make sure you feel like a friend visiting their lovely home, not just a guest at a b&b. They live on the property and they have done a spectacular job redesigning and remodeling this antique home (with a TON of history--that's part of the added charm!) to a wedding chapel, luxury inn, relaxing home away from home. We stayed recently and it's winter, so no pool or outside fire pit for us, but we enjoyed the hot tub in the greenhouse and then a warm up by the fireplace in our suite. Everything was very clean and sanitary--since we are still in Covid that was important to us. We loved playing pool and just having a nice space to relax outside of our room in the common area. Breakfast was great --Matthew brought it up and served us not only food, but mimosas as well, it was a nice way to stretch our little celebration out a bit before heading home. Make sure you take a tour of the wedding chapel and ask about its fascinating history--really the whole place has a story to tell! A walk around the lake after breakfast was a nice way to end our stay. I definitely can see the potential to make it even better than it is, and considering how much progress they've already made in the past few years, I think it's only going to get better and better. Matthew is a dreamer, for sure, you can tell that when you talk to him! He and Sharyn have big ideas and they're working to fulfill all of them! So if you see something isn't perfect, know the next time you come it probably will be...I am looking forward to our next visit in the Summer so we can swim, and take out the paddleboat. Our view from the RS Kerr room was lakefront and the lake is gorgeous--it will be more amazing once everything is green again. And we definitely will take advantage of the fire pit on the deck too. We left Sunday morning making plans to go back, and talking about maybe bringing our staff next time for a retreat there one of these days. It feels tucked away in the woods but is conveniently located right off the highway, 10 minutes to pretty much any restaurant you could imagine, and across the street from a golf course if you are a golfer! Everything about this place has a slow-paced, cozy charm. You really should...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I had such a lovely 2 night stay in The Cottage! Oddly enough it reminded us of our first home. Same color scheme and decorative theme and built around the same time. It was a little uncanny but it took us back 21 years ago to that newlywed feeling instantly. The bed was comfortable and has soft sheets. The loveseat in the living room is cozy for snuggling and I like the added touch of throw blankets. The kitchen has all the pots, pans, and utensils you need to make a meal if you choose to do so. The TV has cox cable and we brought a firestick and watched Netflix because the internet is adequate enough. It's an amazing environment. You can't help but feel at peace amongst the beauty of property. We enjoyed fishing on the dock, swimming in large beautiful pool, sitting outside under the stars at night, and taking walks together. The hot tub was simply divine! My husband taught me how to play pool during pur time there and that was a blast! Our breakfast both mornings was incredible. The first morning we had French toast and some of the best scrambled eggs I have ever had and the 2nd morning we had quiche and hashbrowns. Both meals were scrumptious! Visiting with the owners and the other guests was quite enjoyable as well. Make sure to pack your fishing poles, bathing suits, and come prepared to have a wonderful time. The one thing I wish we had packed was maybe a small Bluetooth speaker to listen to music at the pool or in the hot tub. We can't wait to go back!...
