It is a beautiful place to visit! I was looking for a dog friendly and picturesque winery. I am very picky where I spend my time and if I don't feel welcomed and comfortable I just leave.
I drove through a beautiful driveway which was surrounded by beautiful trees and saw a green lawn with roses, round guest tables and umbrellas.
Each table had beautiful mini flower centerpieces, stainless steel wine buckets for ice and your choice of white wine.
I saw a staff member walking with a small rustic pizza and I said, "that looks good!"
I asked the staff member if the place is dog friendly and walk ins are OK. He was very friendly and said yes and explained how things work in the winery.
I headed inside the tasting room and Justin greeted me at the counter. I loved the beautiful ambiance of the tasting room and the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Justin knew a lot about wine and explained the subtle details about each white wine I tasted. I ordered a mushroom pizza. My little furry friend/dog was also welcomed and felt peaceful and calm while I was tasting wine.
Once I was done with my tasting I got my pizza order set on the patio table outside.
I smelled beautiful roses, my dog loved the lawn and pizza was very good!
I also went to the wine cave/cellar which is a beautiful venue with rustic wood tables, leather couches, wine barrels and beautiful ambiance. The coolness of the cave is soothing on a hot day and it felt so good!
I loved the quality glassware set up on the tables tastefully and I would host a wedding, an anniversary, bridal shower or a birthday party here!
The wine is delicious, the ambiance is gorgeous and the staff is so friendly and...
Read moreMy husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a 3-night stay in the wonderful Grenache House at TGE. We were greeted warmly by everyone there including the winemakers and owners, the Bakers. Gourmet pizza and a bottle of estate Rose' of Pint Noir (and fresh eggs from the hens, cream, butter, and filtered water) were there for our arrival. This set the tone for our stay which included a gourmet 3-course wine safari picnic lunch at the top of the ridge under a 150-year old oak tree, followed by dessert in the wine cave Library! We enjoyed the private hot tub, the elevated deck, the quiet, and the birds as much as the grand finale: a 5-course gourmet wine-paired dinner prepared by the Chef and served in the Cave by the fabulous Justin who was our personal sommelier thought the stay! I cannot recommend a visit, or better yet a stay, at TGE highly enough! We'll be back! Oh, and do join their Wine Club for fabulous wine and discounts on...
Read moreWith over 400 wineries to visit in this area, pass on this one. Here is why I’m giving a poor review. First, the tastings are done standing at the bar which from our experience is rarely done anymore. They had a decent outdoor area with tables that would have been much better for tastings. The young man serving told us we could go outside but we’d have to come in for the tastings. We did not feel like this was a personalized experience. He was trying to manage our tasting and another party of four and seemed frazzled. There was another employee but he was not helping at all. The winery was not busy, just us and another party of 4., We had to ask to tour the caves and he was reluctant but took us. We went inside briefly and did not see any private event in this space. We felt not welcomed and absolutely no hospitality. The experience is important too! It’s not just...
