It cost me $87 to camp here for two nights. $37 per night for a rustic tent site with no electric outlet or running water, plus a $5 fee for being a non-resident, plus an $8 fee for making my reservation online. $87 in total. That comes out to $43.50 per nigh for a basic tent site! That’s an absolute ripoff, especially since they even had the showers closed off to “conserve water.” $87 to tent camp with no showers?!?! If you’re not going to let me fully use the amenities, how are you gonna charge me full price?! Also, this campsite is waaaaay too close to the highway. Our campsite was probably only 15 yards from the highway! We were in campsite 13, which was the only campsite available when we booked, and we had a hard time sleeping because you could hear loud semi-trucks and all sorts of other vehicles barreling down the road all night long. I would not recommend this campsite to anyone, especially not for the prices they’re charging. The location and the amenities(or lack thereof) are absolutely not worth $43.50 per night for a tent...
Read moreThis state park is a wonderful spot to camp if you're planning on exploring the surrounding areas. It's a great jumping off point for many Olympic National Parks adventures.
We tent camped in the lower loop in the East Side of the park. These spots were deeper in the ravine than the main loop. We were hoping that we'd have more of a buffer from HWY 101 but it was still fairly loud. If you're sensitive to late night road sounds, this isn't the campground for you.
The park had a wonderful series of nature trails that led to river access points. It was wonderful having a place to soak our feet after long days of hiking.
Facilities were clean and well stocked. Drinking water was easily accessible. The campsite was spacious and fit our six person tent. Each campsite had a picnic table and fire ring.
The places we visited outside the park were Cape Flattery, Makah Cultural & Research Center Museum, Hoh Rainforest, and...
Read moreOur bike tour group of 6 had a very long/rough day, and Bogachiel came to the rescue. Originally when we arrived at the park, the sun was just about set, and the hiker/biker campsites were mostly filled up. We were not in a position to squeeze 6 tents into a crowded area. However, the park ranger Keith came to the rescue. He went out of his way to accommodate us, based on the policy of never refusing a hiker/biker no matter the time of day. He provided our group with a day-use pavilion that contained outlets, and was in close proximity to the bathrooms (which contained showers). The park facilities were also very immaculate, and very well maintained. Overall, the hospitality extended by Keith was a true blessing to our biking group, and we could not recommend Bogachiel State Park enough to anyone who wants an amazing...
