Been going here for two decades now ever since I was very young. This place is special it's like no other spot in washington and I'm not just saying it. I keep coming back whenever I get the chance, I find myself lost all day in thought as I drift down the beach and watch the eagles and seagulls and seals. Theirs so much life it's truly a place that You will remember. I've even planned a trip there on the wrong day and had horrible weather, literally, lost our food in the wind when we tried to cook. Regardless when I woke up and made coffee and cleaned up the mess the weather and I had created the night before it was like their never was anything that was a problem to begin with as I ate my lunch and watched the ocean horizon and studied all the flowers and plant life. It's somewhere I recommend everyone I know when they talk about going to the ocean in washington state,...
Read moreI'm from Charleston, and was excited to see the PNW version of a beach. This beach was TOTALLY different from The Lowcountry, and that's not a bad thing. The trail from the parking lot to the ocean had informative signs posted. There are quite a few steps and it was a tiny bit steep, but I'm a tad bit older than I used to be, and I had a rambunctious grandson with me. Warning, there seems to be a LOT more steps going up than there were going down, especially in light of the toddler being in my arms on the way up. There is a cool dismount from the trail that involves a rope and rocks. Depending on when you are here during the tidal cycle, you'll see a lot or hardly no tidal pools and sea creatures. I'm totally fascinated with the pebble/rock beaches, and all of the huge trees. I feel so lucky that I got to visit this place and see a new perspective...

I took the small trail that leads to the a small bridge that then leads to the beach. Along the way you see big trees and very nice flora!! At the end of the bridge you can climb down or over huge boulders(?) and one even has a comfortable spot you can sit in, it’s mostly weathered and smooth.
Best part of this beach was that I was able to see whales or maybe even orcas and also seals!! Out there in the wild. That’s insane witnessing it, gives you that un disturbed coastal beach feeling!!
Took lots of videos, my pictures of them weren’t that great though since they were pretty far out there in the distance. Perfect beach area to just gaze and...
