This is my favorite dog park of the options in town. We have also tried Soft Gold Dog Park, Spring Canyon (Horsetooth) Dog Park, Fossil Creek Dog Park, and the dog park near CSUโs Annual Trial Garden. This one is a good size. It is large enough for the dogs to get those crazy zoomie runs in, but not so big that you canโt intervene if there is an incident with another dog. There are very rarely too many dogs for the space. It is often just the right number of dogs. My dog also has many friends there because we are all regulars that come almost daily. We actually moved to the south side of town because we were spending so much of our day just driving to and from Twin Silos Dog Park. Once we turn left at the roundabout, our dog starts going crazy!
There is also a fairly large separate shy/small dog area, and a fountain for filling water bowls and bottles just outside the park (where owners of both shy and large dogs can access it). Many bowls are provided/left in the park for dogs.
Another fun thing to note is there are fantastic sunset views there. There is nothing directly west of the dog park that obstructs the view of the mountains, so it is always a beautiful scene in the evenings. The dirt/finely crushed gravel easily brushes out of my dogโs hair once it dries. After he wrestles for hours at the dog park, I like to just ruffle his hair and then make him shake, sending a big cloud of dirt/dust into the air. Anything else I can easily get with a wire brush that is used for preventing mats, and then wipe away with a wet wipe. Just a little tip!
The only con to this dog park is that there isnโt a light post for the evening dog park goers. I think that is just a matter of writing the city government to petition for a lamp to be installed there. I would like to see how many late night dogs show up when there is actually light!

ย ย ย Read moreA must-visit if you have kids are in the area! We drive up from the Westminster area just to go here. It has so much to offer.
The main play area is so large (vertically and square feet) that it never feels crowded, even with lots of families. There is equipment for every age range - multiple slides, climbing nets, tunnels, swings, a zip line, teeter totter, and more. Play structure adjacent there is a large, open field ideal for soccer or a game of catch, along with multiple picnic areas (some shaded). And it's all set far enough back from the road that it feels safe and confined, even with kids that like to bolt.
In hot weather this park is great because so much of it is covered (no burning your butt on slides!), and on most days the breeze blowing through the structure keeps everyone cool. There are even a few picnic tables underneath the awning, providing a great place for parents to take a breather.
The public restrooms are close by and fairly clean. There is a water fountain for both people and animals. We've never had an issue with parking. If you wander a bit from the play structure there is a community garden to enjoy, beautiful flowers, baseball diamonds, a pump track, and trails for walking/riding.
The only thing it could benefit from is more accessible equipments for children with disabilities, specifically wheel chairs. There is a single swing but...
ย ย ย Read moreWhat a fun park! The playground is well-designed and large, which is good since this park is often busy. However, the multiple components keep kiddos flowing through the structures so it rarely feels overwhelmingly packed. There is a portion of the playground that is suited for younger kiddos (2-5ish), however, there is low visibility, so having independent play is more challenging here than other parks for little littles. I feel this park is best suited for the 6+ age range due to visibility, height, and different play components. I mean, just looking at the twin silos containing a massive slide and climb attraction has kiddos in awe! The real win of this park is the little stream/"beach" nature area to the north end. Why more parks don't have this lower -stimulation and exploratory design is beyond me; I would love to see more of it. This park is an easy way to spend a few hours! There is also a great covered picnic area with numerous tables to the west and a smaller one connected to the playground. This is a...
