Kabetogama lake — Attraction in Fort Frances

Nice lake for sure very scenic but the fishing is terrible, even one of the workers at the resorts said it's been horribly slow. 8-17-20 thru 8-20-20. We've been trying anything and everything, went through the whole tackle box with a variety of rigs and baits and still nothing but a couple Northerns, Bass, one Sauger, a few Walleye. First time fishing this huge body of water and not disappointed. Lake was starting to turnover but we managed numerous pike and smallies. Really didn't target walleye but those times we did one was 28" and returned to fight another day. A word of caution - watch for marker buoys and surrounding areas. One had drifted off and if not for paying attention could have easily ripped out lower unit. Loons were numerous and even had a pair of Trumpeter Swans. ...
