South Platte Valley Historical Society — Attraction in Fort Lupton

Ft. Lupton is a hidden gem in Ft. Lupton, Colorado. It is run by volunteers and offers a wonderful historic trip back to the mid-1800's. Google "special event dates and visiting dates/times" because you just missed the Trapper Days Rendezvous. It had many authentic trapper vendors set up, a black powder muzzle rifle range, spinning wheel demonstrations, blacksmithing, blade sharpening, and wood carving. The Buffalo Soldiers did an amazing routine that drew quite a crowd. The trading post was also open for business and really busy. This is a perfect place to leave the 2000's behind and...
