I went there recently to see the ski area. They have been closed 5 years but wanted to open for a few weeks. They were going to close after the MLK holiday but they had enough cold weather to remain open longer. They make the snow and their equipment is old but they do well with what they have. They have a groomer and it is old too but the slope was in good condition. The slope is not very long, maybe 250 yards and would be a green with the upper part a little steeper and perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers. The slope is serviced by a rope tow and it was working smoothly with skiers getting on and off easily. The rental area looked like there were plenty of skies but they said some of their boot sizes were limited. The price for skiing is very reasonable with rental and lift ticket about $35 to $45 for children and adults and you can ski 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. They also have night skiing on weekends and during the week from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. They also had a food truck and I had a BBQ sandwich which was excellent. They also had other food items and drinks. If I had my boots and if I had gotten there earlier I would have skied. I don't think they will reopen this year unless there is a long period of cold temperatures but I look forward...
Read moreThis is a SMALL hill with only a tow rope.
They only allow skiing/snowboarding, no tubing.
This place is small, but steep enough to get you hurt.
They do rent skis and snowboards but beware, they are all used, secondhand equip, they do not rent helmets. They also give lessons but I’m not sure how good those are.
THEY DO NOT ALWAYS HAVE INTERNET, BRING CASH.
BRING A HELMET, I don’t care if it’s a bicycle helmet, I watched at least 2 ppl get concussions on this hill and that was bc they slipped, however if a full grown adult runs into, you’re gonna need one.
WARNING: The MAJORITY of the ppl out there HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A SKI HILL.
The biggest danger to that is they don’t know how to stop. That means the likelihood of someone hitting you is high.
If you are one of those who have never been on a ski hill - you are responsible for anyone in front of you, as in, don’t run them over, learn how to stop before going to the top, you’re a danger to anyone below you until then, and watch an etiquette video before you go, bc the amount of rude kids I...
Read moreWell, I found out from a lady at the Riverview camp for girls that the area is Private property. Strange...I did not see any signs that says that. I went in the property to go to the Cloudmomt ski resort because I was curios and because I want to travel and post pictures on Google. She asked me questions like "where are you from and why are you here"...all the places I've been, those questions were never asked but I answered since she wants to know and I made a mistake going there. She allowed me to check out the ski resort while she blocked the gate with her SUV maybe to make sure I didn't go anywhere else. I checked out the place turned around and she's still blocking to way out. I didn't get out of my jeep and she moved, said my goodbyes and she said "come back and see us"....ah nope! If anybody wants to check it out one day, make sure you ain't brown or black coz you'll be asked a bunch of questions...and it's...
