If you are even remotely in the area, the camellias are a must-see. I go with my family a couple times each year, and it is a favorite tradition of ours. They also have some really beautiful plants for sale, usually around $33 dollars, which is an excellent deal for plants that size. My dad is an avid gardener and has quite a collection of Massee Lane camellias back home. Also, look into their membership policies. Read moreMassee Lane Gardens is a short drive south from Ft. Valley, GA and is home to the American Camellia Society and a large collection of porcelain sculptures. I visited in February and while there were still some camellias in bloom, most of them were past, but it was still worth the trip. The recent 14 degrees cold and few inches of snow seemed to do minimal damage to the flowers and everything looked very good two weeks after that storm.
