I would advise anyone homeless that isn't a drug addict, mental patient or sex worker. That has knowledge of the Word and sound doctrine beliefs they actually live. To just eat and leave. I advise you not to participate in Bible study or volunteer for them. They need broken down individuals to put themselves over for vain glory. If you have more understanding of God's spirit. If you can sing, have an undeniable light, have true God given gifts. They will think you are of the devil. Especially if you are a person of color. And please don't be attractive as well. You must be of the world so they can correct you, tell you how horrible you are and if you don't listen to them you will be struck down where you sit. Yes they have wonderful "things" for the community. The True Spirit of God isn't one unfortunately. I myself didn't attend or volunteer for them to praise or accept me. I did what I did for love. The love Christ gave that was desperately missing when I arrived. The people in the women's and men's home most of them seem and look clinically depressed. There was gossip, cursing and angry outburst that definitely came from the top down. I still gave love to these individuals that obviously needed it. The one's that laughed and smiled, really one. Was only that way during his sermons. I never argued, didn't participate in gossip and tried my best to give compassion and understanding to the real broken down individuals. I enjoyed helping fellow homeless people. I enjoyed singing to God. I enjoyed God's spirit coming through their flesh. Which is what they are lead by, flesh. If not then I wouldn't have had the treated the way I was. I am not perfect, and should not have to qualify or say that. However I did not do one thing to deserve the treatment I received. After all their attempts to push me away I was simply asked to take the "later" bus. The good folks at Beautiful Feet know who they are. They were upset I did as well. However I did everything I did because God got the glory not them. God will always reign supreme. They may think they can stop, start, alter, manipulate, project etc. God is good all the time. So He gets the glory, victory, honor and praise. I trust Him not man. Lean on Him. Submit and surrender to Him. So tares you will never be wheat. Repetitive scripture, trying to condemn others because you are actually being convicted and don't want to change because you are self righteous, not Christ righteous. I am working my own soul salvation out, looking at the beam in my eyes. Trying to keep my focus where it needs to be on a daily. I guess Beautiful Feet is perfect so that is no longer necessary. I want to go to a church where perfect people aren't allowed. And don't run it either. I would say God Bless and God speed. However you probably don't know what 3 John says about that. He also says whoever believes he is without sin, is deceiving himself. So deceive yourself and others. I myself have studied to show myself approved and no man...
Β Β Β Read moreI've been coming to the clinic for about 10 - 11 years now. The following are my impressions:
β’ All volunteer their time and there are various medical students and Nurse Practitioners that come in as well.
β’ Dr. Capper, who established the clinic, is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things.
β’ Dr. Naberhaus is friendly, knowledgeable and quick. He's on a short schedule so be prepared.
β’ Dr. Pickell is nice but doesn't seem to be as well informed as Capper or Naberhaus.
β’ There are some volunteers that have been there awhile and seem genuinely concerned.
β’ I've always had to check my medications due to frequent omissions and incorrect amounts or dosages.
β’ They're not very organized. They don't follow the list. They tend to go out of order or they let some jump in front of others because those individuals complain more.
β’ There is one nurse that is condescending, patronizing, has a superiority complex and treats everyone has though they are homeless and inferior.
If you need to see a doctor or a prescription filled this is the place. They also have a dental clinic where they do extractions only.
UPDATE:
β’ I recently had a concern about a receding gum I have. One of the dentists took the time and gave me a quick check-up. He was pleasant, explained things and answered all of...
Β Β Β Read moreThis organization, while not perfect, provided things that the homeless shelters couldn't (or not as well or consistently). They provided some unexpectedly good (and varied) meals (much, much, MUCH better than the shelters), clothes (like socks...the main shelter couldn't even find me any (lol). When I used their services, I was oscillating from homelessness to housing insecure (working but living in cheap hotels or Airbnbs when I could afford it) (and trying ineffectively to get help through more formal channels since the PNS shelter was having major issues with case worker retention/satisfaction/training) and this Church provided a more personal, warm, pleasant atmosphere compared to the homeless shelters which were cold and depressing. I'm in a better place now and no longer in the area or I might have stopped by to say hi. I did not personally have any major issues with anyone at the Feet but did notice some things I perhaps didn't agree with (hence four stars) but will not list them in the interest of concision and also to accentuate the good...which I think this Church and its founders genuinely strived for.
P.S: It's was 4 years (possibly more) since I last visited so this review is not "recent" but I would recommend this place...
