Overall, it was really fun. Me and my friends mostly spent our time at the High Dive, which is a really fun diving board that I would say is a couple yards tall super fun but I would say that the slides I would not recommend the blue slide has a lot of sand in it that scratched all of our backs and necks that left marks, and if you weigh 70+ pounds it will shoot you to the side out of the slide, which is not very enjoyable, but I do think that the lifeguards need to calm down. They were so focused on blowing their whistle at people for the most stupid things that when anything major happened, they didn’t even notice one encounter in particular really made me mad when there was a young kid that jumped off the diving board and he stayed under there for like five seconds and they freaked out and went diving and got him. It was so unnecessary and after they had gotten him out of the water into the side , a lifeguard looked at me in the face and nodded, and I assume that meant that I could go because I was next in line, so of course I jumped off, and my friend behind me told me that he got so angry and blew his whistle and shook his head and had a big fit, and all the lifeguards blew the whistle meanwhile, the kids are strangling each other in the kid area, I also found that the lifeguards are overall disrespectful and rude. One of my friends was slightly running and every single one of the lifeguards blew their whistle and screamed to walk. She wasn’t even running. They need to chill. We went on a Saturday sunny day and came around 10:30. It wasn’t too crowded at the beginning but towards 1:00 it started filling up more either way I do not think I will be returning here...
Read moreThis has been my family's #1 summertime habitat for generations!! I cannot recommend it high enough. It is a family location ran by a family with family traditions. No alcohol or roughhousing with excellent life guards, first aid and safety minded employees. Bring your own food and beverages (no glass) or pack light and grab a hot dog at the convenience stand. Life vests are available for free. Giant tubes are available to rent with sand volleyball courts available for no cost. Prices for rentals and refreshments are much much more reasonable than a water park and parking is free. In addition the atmosphere is lush, green and without concrete. And top all this off with soft sandy beaches and a sandy bottomed spring fed lake- be sure and bury dad on the beach or build a sand castle (sand toys are also available at no cost on a 1st come 1st served basis). The lake is small enough that you can spot your kids from across it if you get seperated, yet big enough you have your choice of a sunny spot to camp for the day or a nice shady location on the shore! We have played here for over 30 years and while accidents have happened and children have been injured the staff have always acted so quick and professionally any injury was significantly less than it could have been and never the fault of The Park or their employees. Hey, in a place where hundreds are playing hard little accidents happen- it is good to know you have good caring people to lean on if they should happen to you or yours. I hope you take a chance on Burgers Lake and make memories as wonderful as...
Read moreMy three young kids and I went to Burgers Lake a couple weeks ago at about 4pm. We didn’t really know what to expect. The price per person was posted clearly online $20 per person regardless of age (so babies too). No alcohol allowed. On the way in one Police officer came to my window and had me roll down the back window to see inside and asked if I had a cooler. I said no and he let us go through. There was no line. There was nowhere to park however. I didn’t realize people come early and post up all day. We found a spot that may not have actually been a spot but we parked there. The water was pretty. It’s obvious they use pond dye, which is fine when they get the color right. I’m not sure why people complain about the color. Like the actual color is probably brown like most ponds. And they color it so people will get in. The sandy areas have a lot of flying stinging ants that try to attack you so bring bug spray. There were ALOT of people. Like wayyyyy too many people. Unsupervised kids kept taking my kids toys and we left with 1 out of 4 toys we brought. I am happy there are no pets allowed as my autistic son is petrified of anything not human. But I have seen people complain about that. The food is okay priced but the line was 20+ people long the entire time we were there so we couldn’t eat. Bring your own food for sure! We will be going back more prepared. Go early with a cooler of food and drinks, bug spray, sun block, bring your own chairs, tell kids who ask to borrow your stuff no, and park next to a grill and you should have a...
