Saw no one else on the trail on Saturday. Parking lot is limited, but enough. I don't know the history but quite a lot of this forest seems to be old growth as opposed to second growth according to my observation. I am happy to see trees with 8-12 ft diameter bases here when I only see dead stumps of that size in most of the county. Small route. Wish is connected to the river a bit more given how much borders it. Seems handicap friendly throughout the main loop.

Read more2024 update: The paths have been improved since my 2022 review. I pushed my 94 y.o. mother on an approx. 3/4 mile loop. There were two benches on the loop. Branches off the main path looked accessible too.
The path was 5-6 feet wide and really quite smooth for a gravel path. The most challenging part was just getting from the car to the beginning of the path.
The best part of this little state park is no bicycles, no dogs, no motorized vehicles, no picnic tables, no restrooms. It is just an idyllic grove of redwoods with few visitors and a great place for someone with mobility challenges to commune...
