The Immortal Tree is an inspiring and humbling stop along the Avenue of the Giants. This incredible redwood has stood for over 1,000 years and has survived logging attempts, lightning strikes, floods, and even a direct hit by a logger's axe—yet it still stands tall and thriving. Truly a symbol of resilience! The signage near the tree does a great job telling its remarkable story, and it only takes a few minutes to visit, making it a perfect stop to stretch your legs and reflect on the power of nature. There’s also a small gift shop and restroom nearby, which is convenient if you’re road-tripping through the redwoods. It’s a short but meaningful stop that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone driving through Humboldt Redwoods State Park!

Very well marked attraction off the Avenue of the Giants. The tree and information sign are great, as is the neat hollowed out piece. The rest of the grounds are deserted and run down. No longer a Good Sam RV park. The place is so deserted that it felt like we were almost trespassing in the parking lot.

Grew up close by. Loved showing visiting relatives our "Immortal" Tree. Still seems pretty amazing & indestructable even as a grown up. It has survived forest fires, the 1964 & 1986 floods, being chopped upon by loggers who gave up & left part of their ax behind as well as being struck by lightening. Several times! Memorial Day through Labor Day the site is now also home to the "Hollow Log Truck". The truck is made from a hollowed out section of a 1000 year old tree mounted on the bed of an 1945 White open cab fire truck. Visitors can climb inside and take pictures the folks back home just may...
