My sister organizes an autumn outing every year for a group of our family and friends, and this year she chose the Triple B Farms Family Fall Festival as our destination.
Our group lives all over the area, and some of us had more than an hour drive to get there, but let me tell you: it was totally worth it.
We had a large mixed group of adults and children. We arrived around lunchtime on Saturday, October 5th 2019.
There were a lot of people. So many people. Someone who has anxiety in large crowds might have some trouble. But I will say this: someone at Triple B Farms is very smart and pays a lot of attention to detail. Everything was very well organized.
Parking is in a large field on the east side of the property. A ridiculous number of cars. But also lanes clearly marked, and ample space for everyone; I found a spot in the first lane I turned down, as did the rest of our group. There was staff in the field directing cars as well.
After parking, you walk towards the farm and quickly see the large, clearly marked "Family Fall Festival Entrance" sign that leads to the ticket booths. The queue moved quickly. In fact, all the queues moved quickly. There were long lines for food and hayrides also, but the length of the lines is deceptive; they weren't long because things were moving slowly, they were long because there just happened to be a lot of people. I don't think we waited in any line more than 5-10 minutes. Again, these folks were very well organized and well-equipped to manage this volume of people.
Once inside the festival, there is a lot to see and do for the adults and the kids alike. The animal barn was a hit with the kids, as were the ducks and chickens. The middle field was set up with a huge, whimsical display of fairy tale and cartoon characters built out of pumpkins and farm props. The corn maze was quite large and well-designed, a lot of fun. We got lost in it for some time! The kids loved the slides and bounce house - which both had long queues, but again do not be fooled, because those lines moved very quickly. The spooky barn was appropriately spooky. Be aware that there are strobe lights in use, and the darkness/spookiness may not be appropriate for very small children, but for elementary school aged kids and up it would be fun.
The hayride was lovely - it goes around the property to where guests can pick their own apples and pumpkins, and our group did both. The prices for this produce were very reasonable, and both the kids and adults had a lot of fun with it. It's a beautiful property. The views are gorgeous.
After spending the day doing all these activities, we made sure to stop in the market building before leaving. The market had a fine selection of Triple B apple butters, jams, jellies, preserves, dressings, honey, pickled items, etc. There was also fresh produce, cider, and the bakery with pies and other treats. I can report that the pies, doughnuts, and cider are delicious; all were gone before the weekend was over. I have not had the opportunity to sample my apple butter, honey, or preserves but I expect they will also be excellent.
Everywhere there was a point of sale, Triple B did have the ability to accept credit cards - they even set up a small generator out in the pumpkin fields to run the register. Still, I personally carried enough cash for the day, and I might recommend others do the same just in case there is a problem.
There were employees and helpers all over the property, most wearing visibility vests. If you needed help or had a question, there was never someone far away.
These folks did a awesome job. The kids had a blast, the adults had a blast, everyone had a great time. I would definitely recommend visiting this festival. The educational nature of the decorations makes it great for kids, but there is also plenty to do for adults as well. Highly...
Β Β Β Read moreIβve been there before in the past, and Iβve always had an amazing time. Everybodyβs always been so friendly and outgoing. Todayβs visit, however, was the complete opposite. We get out there to find out that we cannot pick anything other than flowers which we were fine with. I picked one apple off of a tree for my three-year-old grandson got back to the gift shop to pay for another vase of flowers. Whatβs the total ended up costing me $80 for three vases of flowers plus we bought a few little odds and ends. Must be the owner, elderly woman , who is extremely rude asked me if I picked the apple and I told her yes and that I was going to pay for it to which she started to reprimand me that I shouldnβt have picked that Apple. I told her I have every intention of paying for it to what she turned around and said yeah, and walked away from me. The girl working behind the counter, had an attitude from the very minute we walked through the door just totally I feel like she didnβt want to be waiting on anyone. There was only one person there that was friendly and that was a person that was setting up for the Halloween display . My grandkids were playing in the grass and weβre walking up towards the slides when a young girl came out and said itβs closed up there that they couldnβt go up there which was fine. We are OK with that. But the whole experience just made us feel totally unwelcome there today . My daughterβs first time visiting, and I was very disappointed at the experience that we had. I wanna make it clear that I also knew I was not supposed to be picking an apple and should not have picked it, however, I didnβt have to pay for it and for all those apple trees out there, and all the beautiful ones that are just laying on the ground . The fact that I got reprimanded for picking one apple was totally uncalled for because Iβm sure I am not the only person that has ever done that. I will not be...

First of all, we recommend taking a larger vehicle that can handle mud because you park in a huge field. Our car almost got stuck because the SUV in front of us stopped and we couldnβt get traction to go up the hill. It rained the day before so the field was muddy (and itβs a hilly field).
We drove down to the farm today to check out the fall festival and got there around 11:30. We were allowed to park. Walked quite a ways uphill with our toddler, heard some rumblings about tickets being sold out and advance purchase online was required. We stood in line and stepped out of line when we saw another family be turned away because they didnβt purchase their wristbands in advance online. We looked on the website before going back to the car and there was no mention of purchasing tickets on the home page, no mention of tickets being sold out. We went back to our car and tried to purchase tickets, but it would not let us buy more than 1 ticket. There were no signs until you got to the gate that mentioned needing tickets in advance. There werenβt even signs pointing you in the direction on how to get into the farm. When we got back home around 2 pm, we checked the website and it had been updated with a big red banner saying wristbands were sold out for the day. Clearly the website is not being updated accordingly so that people know what to expect.
What we saw from the outside looked like fun, but we also saw angry, disappointed families (including our own) about the way ticketing is handled. Poor customer experience for a far drive. I donβt know if weβll end up trying another weekend because the experience was so poor at the outset so we arenβt sure we want to support a...
