Colorado Adventure Center is such a fun place with rafting, zip lining, and an aerial ropes course, all in one place. The location is right outside of Idaho Springs, which is an easy drive from the Denver Metro, and was an overall great adventure outing for the whole family (rafting 7+ years of age, zip-lining 48”+/65lbs+, and ropes 4+ years). The grounds/facilities were all clean and well cared for. The staff were all friendly and helpful. And the rope course (our adventure for this trip) is one of the best ones we have done in Colorado. Heads up, as you get close the road has a couple of different pull-outs, so keep an eye out for the big CAC lodge parking lot. Dress for the weather, bring water, treat your guides nicely, and you should have an awesome day.

Had a wonderful time on a 54 degree day. We did the intermediate level. Our guide Stephen was very knowledgeable, kept us safe, and fun. Wetsuits and jackets kept us warm and drier. Wish we would have paid the extra $3 and got the booties. Our feet were numb after 3 hours in plain water shoes. As a mom with 2 teenage daughters on the trip who have only done class 2 rapids, the guides kept the boats close, had several pull over areas to regroup and discuss the next set of rapids. After a big set of rapids the lead boat pulls over in case the other boats need help. Also the bus driver stops along the road and has a throw rope to help anyone in need. Love the added safety. Would highly recommend them.

My experience was ruined when we arrived and were required to weigh in for our whitewater rafting trip. My son weighed 46 lbs which was less than the required 50 lbs. We knew he was around the required 50 lb weight when booking and assumed it would not be an issue. Instead, we were told he could not go, and also we were not entitled to a refund if we cancelled the trip. So, my son and I left with him crying while my wife and daughters went without us. Not the experience you expect to have together on a family vacation.

To the credit of Colorado Adventure Center, they did allow us to use the funds we had paid for rafting on the ropes course. We were lucky enough to have enough flexibility in our vacation that we came back two days later to do this activity with the entire family. It was a fun experience until the very end when we were given no warning that our time was up. My son, me, and my daughter arrived back on the platform at 11:10 and were told at that point that no one else was allowed to go back out. So, we sat disappointed again for the next 20 minutes while everyone else finished up. For the advertised 2 hour experience we were actually on the course for just 1 hour.

I understand there must be rules and time limits, but as a rule follower myself, I was baffled at the lack of flexibility in my experiences at the Colorado Adventure Center. Maybe I'm being petty with my 1 star review, but unfortunately that was the...

For the most part this place is 5 stars all the way! The pricing was fair the adventure rafting was so much fun. Upfront I will say I’m not thrilled with the booking. I called ahead booked a month out, and called to confirm that our group of six would be together and they assured me up and down this was happening. I even asked about the water levels being able to accommodate us and again I was told 100%. We checked in still a group of six they said we are good to go we will all be together, I paid in advance for the picture package for us we looked forward to it. Then they leave it up to the guides to break the news (mind you who work for tips) to be the bad guys and break up our group with random people. I was not happy with the company, the guides on the other hand so much fun and high energy. A lot of hurry up and wait but I get it, that’s a lot of people they’re responsible for keeping safe. Our guide Delaney was so much fun and encouraging in our beginner course! She was patient and knowledgeable, not enough good things could be said about her. They work for tips and we made sure she got hers...

We went white water rafting and zip lining for a bachelorette party and had a wonderful time. Our rafting guide, Adam, was absolutely amazing! He was very professional, knowledgeable, fun, quick to get us out of sticky spots (the river was low when we went) and was more than happy to answer our groups many questions.

Our zip lining guide, Lucy, was also terrific! She was very professional, knowledgeable, kind and sweet. She made it a point to learn all of our names, and told us a few interesting stories about the region.

If you’re traveling from out of town, I highly recommend renting a car. Our group took an Uber and learned when we got there that it’s nearly impossible to get one back to Denver. Which it was! (It was also $190 if we could find one, or $390 for a taxi.) Thankfully, Lily, one of the zip lining guides, helped us out by giving us a ride into Idaho Springs. There were a few more options for an Uber, but they kept canceling on us. We finally found one and got back to Denver, but it was a challenge!

Overall, we had a blast and I highly...
