A well kept RV park. Each site was very exposed with no trees. Every other site had a sheltered picnic bench. We took the last one left so it had no sheltered picnic table. So early in the afternoon we left to see the black Canyon of the Gunnison which was literally breathtaking. You can have the time in 1700 feet below. After viewing the spectacular Canyon sights we found an open area in the park where we could camp how to knee open with no facilities and only returned in the morning to Crawford State park for our shower. Which is a very hot exposed place to hang out during the hot days of July when the temperatures were in excess of 34° Celsius. The showers have no temperature control so we found them a little bit cool. Other than that, the washroom was spotless. When you enter there is a boat check site where they also check your registration. Proof of registration is required to enter the park. It was $45 a month plus annual...

We stayed in Clear Fork loop, space #51 in late March. The bath house was still closed for winter but there were 2 vault toilet restrooms, which were clean. The campground was quiet, peaceful, and offered spacious campsites with fire rings. There is a nice hiking/walking trail from the boat ramp near site 51 all the way to the Iron Creek Campground loop with newly constructed foot bridges and a safe pedestrian walkway along the road. Fresh, clean air and stunning scenery. Note: boat inspection and launch is to be done at the Peninsula lot and by site 51 seemed to be for boat loading out of the water. There was no boat ramp activity during our stay. The water was a little low, but it will probably fill the lake soon with spring runoff. The calm water looked ideal for kayaks and canoes. Our 17' camper van looked tiny on the 75' paved RV site, but it was a gem of a location. Dog friendly. Kid friendly with a playground. Highly...

We normally go here once if not twice a year. This year we went for Memorial weekend. Worst experience we've ever had. We camped from Thursday- Tuesday. Friday we had no electic for over six hours. ( LOST food in the crockpot that day, along with someother food).Who brings a generator when you pay for full hook ups. We understand things happen. The problem was there was nobody working during this. No camp host, no rangers, nobody in the office , the phones weren't working. So for hours no answers. I have reached out with three attempts to speak with someone through email. No response. Just a generic email that is sent to anyone, and everyone with concerns. For these reasons I would not recommend staying here. We went with a group of people had four sites. We are all disappointed in how they handle business. We will not return due to lack of co tact, amd taking...

This is a typical state park for the area. The Iron Creek campground we stayed at had full hookups with water, sewer, and electric. The website said a few spots had 50 amp, but our site only had 20 and 30 amp. The site we had was level and had plenty of space. You aren't crammed in close to the other campers. The restroom facilities are clean. Only drawback here is that the showers are coin operated. However, the showers are definitely cleaner than most campgrounds. I recommend booking early so you can get one of the sites that has the shelter over the table as there isn't a lot of shade here. This campground is close to the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The north rim is more primitive than the south rim, but is still accessible by cars.

Pretty place. Loved the drive there! Lots of places to fish. A little dedicated "beach" area for swimming only. Bathrooms were really clean, and had showers! Not much shade at all so day was hot, but nights, and early mornings were nice and cool (July). Some spots have shaded picnic area. Nice big playground for kiddos. Lots of clean wide trails to walk on. Pretty quiet place. Dogs allowed, just not on beach area. If camping, keep in mind day pass also required for all the days you're there. We ventured into town for some delicious ice cream!
