The City of Elberta has a car show traditionally around this time of year and they decorate the outside of the Historical Sinclair which is a landmark. And in the flyer we downloaded, the picture of the Historical Sinclair was included so that the car show is easy to find. Traditionally different event directors each time will arrange with the city to do they're event at this location. In general it's a charity event to help the Fire departments, First responders, and search and rescue, Veterans and they're families as well as many other charities. With each event that's held they do have judging for all the different Antique cars, as well as motorcycles that register. All that enter are required to pay a small registration fee to participate, there are also some other categories that they specify that can join the Festivities as well. There's also food venders and vehicle accessories and other venders. I myself and my daughter inlaw have a pop up booth of Handmade jewelry that we do on a few occasions here and there at different car shows in Utah. Of which we really enjoy attending because it's for a good cause for the Vetrans and they're families, First responders, search and rescue, Fire departments and more that you can donate to. And you can have an incredible amount of fun looking at all the awesome cars, trucks, motorcycles and on occasion Antique travel trailers. And a lot of car shows throughout the state that are hosted by a variety of different directors. Some shows even let you participate in the voting for best in show, favorite choice and such. The Car show group that hosted this event is based out of Ogden and they are well known throughout the state. They host many events that are always awesome and fun to attend. If you have an interest in attending car show circuits, look up car show events, schedules or calendar events, and choose which one you would like to attend and you should be able to get the details right there on the internet so you can mark on your own calendar the date so you can find it and attend. We plan on attending several throughout the year including a couple way down South in the fall so watch for the car show circuits schedule and come check some out. You might run into us. Be safe and...
Read moreSo, its a nice enough place. The owner of the property keeps it clean and even decorates it seasonally. My only issue is that the owner of the property does need a minor attitude adjustment. I had pulled over to take a break from driving because my job tends to keep me on the road, and I was parked far enough from the building itself that you could have put multiple vehicles between me and it. Well the owner pulls up and starts chewing me out because apparently I'm too close for him to get anything out of the building, so I pull forward out of the way, and he just drives off. He apparently interrupted my nap for the fun of it. And again, there was plenty of room between my vehicle and the building for him to even pull a van out or trailer out of...
Read morePerfect place to stop in front of and take a picture of your classic car. I spoke to the owner of this property and found out it’s history. This Sinclair station used to be located in the mining town (now ghost town) of Dividend, UT. That town disappeared in the late 1940s when the mine closed down. In 1952 the grandfather of the gentleman I spoke to moved the building to its current location. It even used to have old gas pumps in front of it until they were stolen. The building sets on a larger concrete pad. If you look in the field to the east there is a barn that used to set at that corner and was relocated when the Sinclair building was moved there. Such great history! I hope it stays around for...
