What an awesome hike! The trail is well made, easy to follow and has numerous stone steps in the uphill sections. We chose to do the route via Estes Canyon Trail, the Spur, and back via the Bull Pasture Trail. Estes Cyn provides a picturesque meandering canyon bottom hike before climbing switchbacks up to the junction with Bull Pasture Trail. At the junction we continued up the “spur” trail to Bull Pasture for stunning views in all directions. From the end of the spur at Bull Pasture there is a hikers trail that continues easterly to a saddle with great views of Diaz Spire and Mtn. The Bull Pasture trail down is a pleasant downhill hike. *a large image of a longhorn Bull can be seen high in the rock face to your left as you hike up Estes Cyn trail to the junction and beyond, looking roughly north easterly.

Absolutely perfect trail and probably the best trail in the park to walk. Basically like you’re walking through a cactus botanical garden. Organ pipes, saguaro, prickly pear, cholla, you name it, they are here. And the cliffs enclosing the canyon seemed like something out of an Indiana Jones movie. Just did the main loop, didn’t do the spur to bull pasture. About 2.7 miles round trip and about 1.5 hours to do at a very leisurely pace with lots of photos.

Obvious and well maintained trail that was a short and enjoyable hike with great views from the top. We added the trip to the top of Mount Ajo which made it considerably longer and tougher but was worth every drop of sweat and the cactus spines I'm still pulling out of my shoulder weeks later. Would definitely go again.

Beautiful loop hike we took in a clockwise direction. The basin leading to the Bull Pasture cut-off is tranquil. The exposure getting up to Bull Pasture can be daunting but the views on top are worth it. The climb is in shade and when its cold and windy you can chill quickly due to sweating.

We're full time hiking RVr's, blog...
