We are likely not the normal demographic (44 female, 47 male, 55 male and 74 female) as we saw lots of young families and kiddos, but we had an excellent time! This is their holiday season show and it was wonderful! They offered a sleigh ride pulled by an older (pristine) pickup, the camp was decorated with Christmas lights and even had a Santa workshop manned by Santa. 🎅 There were a handful of cute trinket shops (we got a lovely Christmas ornament) and a bakery with fresh cookies.
Onto the food and show - the seats were comfortable and the food was delicious! They dismiss each table and we were quickly served - you’re welcome to go back for seconds. I had the BBQ chicken and it was super tender! I can’t decide if the beans or biscuits are my favorite! The show was marvelous! They did some traditional songs, some new takes on traditional songs and a really fun rendition on the “12 days of Christmas”. All of these things made me want to leave a 5 star review…. But the moment that literally made tears stream down my face was when Mrs. Hobbs yodeled. My late gram told us how she yodeled when she was a young girl - we lost her in 2016. It’s not common to hear someone yodel so when she started, tears filled my eyes and just spilled down my cheeks. Thank you so much for a memory that I will...
Read moreHands down one of THE BEST family nights we’ve ever had. We went to their holiday hoedown and what a time was had by all! We enjoyed the hayride around the property where we got to see all the Christmas decor and lights. It ran pretty frequently and it was unlimited rides. They have an adorable souvenir shop that sells s’mores kits for cheap… Make sure to get those early because they will sell out! They also have a live fire pit where you can roast your marshmallows and make your s’mores. They have cute store fronts for nice photo-ops and also an area where Santa was to visit with the children. They have a pre-dinner show at the beautiful chapel with a very talented cast. The chapel was heated and comfy during the cold winter days. The main attraction was the chuckwagon dinner fit for a cowboy! Absolutely delicious- not one thing was bad and there was PLENTY to go around - loved making the line for dinner service and sitting with complete strangers enjoying a hearty meal. The after dinner shower was extremely entertaining and my kids loved it! Truly an experience of a time long gone by that anyone will enjoy. Cannot recommend it more! We will definitely be back. The whole family is so talented as well as the rest of the musicians. A true...
Read moreThere are a lot of great kid friendly activities before the dinner/show that didn't appeal to us as we are a family with young adults, but they all seemed very fun nonetheless! All of us LOVED the gun fight that happens before dinner -- the sheriff is a RIOT! The food was so good! We loved the BEANS ;) and the brisket and chicken were so good. They feed everyone soooo fast and so efficiently with lots of leftovers so come hungry! As for the western music concert that follows dinner -- wow!!! we loved it! i absolutely love western music and i am from the east coast, so this was a highlight of my trip! we bought all the CDs available and listened to them for the rest of our trip exploring new mexico and texas :)
the energy of all the staff and the family who owns this place just brought such a smile to my face. everyone emphasized how it's all about making memories with your family, friends, + loved ones. i am so glad we spent the evening at the flying j ranch, it was truly a great memory with delicious food and...
