This is an amazing place, well worth the effort to get here. Crystal blue-green water lazily flows from waterfall to waterfall. It truly is a must-see experience. The tallest waterfalls, Havasu and Mooney, are majestic and powerful. But there are scores of smaller falls all throughout the stream formed by the lime deposits in the water. The whole area is unbelievably picturesque.
If you are camping in the Havasupai Campground, be aware of the squirrels and raccoons. Tie your packs up in the trees, but not too close to the branches. The raccoons come at night, roaming in groups from camp to camp looking for food that has been left too close to the grounds. During our hike, we mistakenly hung out at a no-named waterfall area, thinking it was Beaver Falls. Despite this mix-up, the beauty of the surroundings made it a delightful part of our journey.
