Our recent tour experience was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to our fantastic guide, Olive(the fruit). From the moment we embarked on our journey, Olive expertly blended historical facts with enthralling storytelling, creating an atmosphere where the past truly came alive.
What set Olive apart was her ability to engage everyone in the group. Whether young or old, history enthusiast or casual tourist, each anecdote was delivered with such passion and charisma that even the most skeptical among us found ourselves hanging onto every word.
Moreover, Olive had an uncanny knack for injecting humor into their narratives, ensuring that even the most complex historical events were not only comprehensible but thoroughly enjoyable. It was refreshing to see history presented in such a dynamic and accessible way.
But perhaps the most commendable aspect of Olive's tour was her genuine enthusiasm for her subject matter. It was evident that she didn't just recite facts from a guidebook; she lived and breathed the history of the area, and her enthusiasm was contagious. By the end of the tour, we found ourselves not only more knowledgeable about the sites we visited but also inspired to delve deeper into the rich tapestry of history.
In summary, Olive not only made our tour enjoyable but truly unforgettable. Their storytelling prowess, combined with her passion for the subject matter, elevated our experience to new heights. We can't recommend her highly enough and eagerly look forward to our next adventure with Olive at the helm.

Read moreI did the Haunted Lantern tour with my two kids (ages 13 and 9). I made sure they read both tour options and picked the one they were comfortable with. We are Colorado natives and have done the classic tour before. They were all about the haunted one. We toured on Wednesday July 12th. We were very lucky to get the Hippie (John S) as our tour guide. We all agreed it’s probably a good tour anyway, but the Hippie made it excellent. He is such a great storyteller and actor. (I am a writer and a writing teacher, so I can recognize good details.) I don’t want to give anything away, but a couple times he really unnerved me (in the best way) and broke my heart with his stories. He made me want to research Cave of the Winds myself. As a native and someone that has been to the caves before, it was fun and interesting to be in a different one. The description and the Hippie’s warning about what the tour would be like intimidated me a bit. The lanterns are a bit dim. I was the most concerned about a misstep or whacking my head; never did. I am 5’4”. For a tall person person it would definitely be harder. There was a good amount of stooping, but nothing unbearable or that hard. We never crawled on our bellies like I briefly envisioned we might. We really loved our experience. Excellent tour guide in the Hippie. We had great people in our group, which made it even better. The kids loved exploring the mountain park after, even though the youngest was too young for...
Read moreOmg this was so much fun!
Our tour guide was Jeremy and you could tell he loves what he does. The stories are fantastic and almost believable (we did the directors cut lantern tour.) We had our two teenagers with us, and there was not a bored teen moment. That’s like a freaking Christmas miracle
A word of caution before going- they are super honest about how physically taxing it is on the site, it’s a work out and you are moving QUICK. If you have any kind of breathing difficulties or allergies, take your meds before you go and bring an inhaler. There’s definitely mildew and dust (it’s a cave). I did NOT think of this and as such I was frequently last- easy pickings for any ghosts and ghouls.
Definitely a TON of fun and looking forward to going back and doing one of the day time tours.
Editing to add: I looked at the website for the first time (the tickets were a gift and the bit about crouching was read to me) and it CLEARLY states people with respiratory issues shouldn’t attempt, lmao. Maybe it was an attempt to have my...
