Easy to get to and next to Mt. Elbert trailhead too. You can find parking along Halfmoon if the main lot is full. Definitely recommend getting their early but that goes without saying.

20°-30° start, a flat section which luls you into thinking its easy, then 30°-40° until you get to the top where it flattens out. Start early in the day, its a long haul.

Amazing place! Trail is way nicer than Mt Elbert. Challenging, yet doable. Less windy than Elbert on the top. Views are breathtaking. About 4h one way.

This was a fantastic hike. The trailhead parking lot is small, but there is also overflow parking. Both Elbert and Massive trailheads are very near each other, so make sure you hit the right one! Met someone on the trail today that went up the wrong mountain!

Be sure to start this hike early, especially during the rainy and warm season. It’s a long one, but well worth it. Also nice to spend a few miles on the Colorado trail. We are in moderate shape and have done a few of these, we were able to get up/down in...

Excellent water source. There is no camping near the trailhead, however there are plenty of campsites south of the river crossing so camel up and enjoy the evening. Be mindful that there is bear activity in this area so hang your food bags before...

Not enough parking at trailhead. There is a small overflow parking lot. Try to get a campground close to trailhead. There is a creek that runs year round at the trailhead. Needs to be filtered due to the abundance of wildlife. Great traill...
