We had an absolute blast BOTH days we came here. The first day was right after feeding, so we didn’t really see all the animals but they wrote us a pass to come on Saturday to do the feeding with the animals, we signed up to do horseback riding on Saturday and our youngest did a pony ride after. They had games and coloring books while we waited for my husband and our oldest to get done with their horseback ride. My oldest ended up being too scared to go and they gave a full refund. The person we spoke to ended up saving a magnet from her personal collection to give to me when we came back Saturday because she saw how bummed I was they didn’t have any of just the Rocky Mountain wildlife name on it. We didn’t end up staying for the feeding since we were all exhausted by that point, but it was an incredible experience either way. The staff are incredible, the animals are awesome and the customer service is top tier. Loved our experiences there.

3/25/21 Supper friendly people. Very reasonably priced at $10 for adults $7 for are 4 year old and free for are baby. Not to big of a place but good quality. They feed the animals and give a tour at 2pm that's included with admission and I highly recommend getting there 15 till to get ticket and be ready to see it. Self guided tour took us about 30 min and feeding took longer but we did not stay for all of it because weather turned at black bear but I would say somewhere around a hour. They have a bargain shed we found very interesting and my wife found a basket and 2 sets of small fancy glass cups. Also feel good supporting rescued animals that are treated well. If you enjoy the guide I ask you please consider a small tip.

We really enjoyed this small wildlife park. We did a walk through by ourselves and then followed the 2pm feeding tour with Denise. She was awesome and very knowledgeable about the animals. She was patient, answered every question that came her way, and kept us entertained. We saw each animal and got an antler whistle from the giftshop. All the staff was knowledgeable and inviting. The animals are well taken care of and loved. These people love what they do, and it shows. There are informative signs at each animal enclosure, including the animals' names. It was reasonably priced, and we plan on coming back for the horse trail rides and to see the animals again.

I absolutely LOVED it here. I came to Pagosa for the weekend from Santa Fe, NM and had the best time here. My partner and I did the horse ride with Tyler, who is amazing with the horses and great with people. You can tell he cares about the horses and what he does so you will be in good hands. He is extremely experienced which helps if you're new to riding. We did the hour horse ride and saw some amazing views. I rode a horse named "Lucky" and he was great to ride. He had such a spirited attitude it made the ride so pleasant.

The park itself is kept very neat and the animals have a longer than normal lifespan in the facility. It goes to show how well the animals are taken care of. The enclosures are large and landscaped and the trail is clean and easy to walk. There is a giftshop with an art display on the second floor which is all great. The girl at the register is so sweet and pleasant. You can easily tell everyone collectively cares about the facility and the animals.

There is a guided feeding at 3pm and the woman who does it has so much knowledge, does great with kids and has excellent relationships with all the animals. She feeds them and gives you facts and history. She has humor and a positive demeanor its worth it!

Lastly, the owner himself is awesome. The day my partner and I were there, the owner was waiting for a different couple who were also doing a horse ride but the gentleman was proposing. The owner and Tyler went out of their way to accommodate the love birds and it was touching to see that there is still love and chivalry in the world! I didn't want to leave and will definitely be coming back. It's an experience you won't find...

Grizzly bear and one of the wolves were injured. Elk and grizzly living in solitude, most animals born into captivity or brought at a very young age and never knowing the wild. Horses were unnecessarily saddled the entire time we were there. If they were preparing for an organized pre-scheduled ride, the comfort of the horses was not the priority, as it only takes a few minutes to properly saddle a horse. Only the grizzly information indicated there was any type of "rescue" because she was orphaned at 10 months old in 1997. One could look at this as an act of kindness, but judging from the rest of the facility and quality of care for the other animals, I think it's more appropriate to say it was an act of opportunity.

I do not go to zoos normally, but I have a 3 and 1 year old that grandma wanted to take, so I obliged. These are the types of zoos that are in it for the profit only, in my opinion. They serve no obvious benefit to any of the animals there and prioritize their business over the health, comfort, and happiness of the animals they've "imprisoned". If they are doing otherwise, they have not made it obvious to the customers who pass through there.

Please consider this a my opinion and not fact. As I mentioned, if there is any altruistic motivation here, it was not advertised or made obvious anywhere on the property while we were there. Giving any of your money to an establishment like this will keep them in the business of procuring animals for self-serving and profiteering...

We took a road trip to Colorado and found this place. We were excited to see the animals, my daughter enjoyed it and the shop Inside.

While we were looking at the taxidermy bears inside it turned out that one of the bears had an interesting story. The lady at the register said that the owner had hunted that bear in Russia and if I asked him about it he might tell me the story, the owner was sitting behind her and I said, “ excuse me.. did you kill that bear?” The bear was huge and he modestly just nodded his head. I asked him how he did it, he asked if we had time and if we wanted to hear about it, of course we had time and he told us all about his adventure in Russia and hunting that bear. I loved it, I don’t have grandparents, ive never heard cool stories from the past. It was such an honor him telling us about how he got to Russia, how he hunted that bear, him telling us the story made him light up just as much as we did! If you are reading this, it was great meeting you Mr. Ray, hopefully on out next trip we can come by and you can tell us about another hunt!
