Beautiful scenery, but same issue I have with other Flagstaff trails- the markings. Thought I'd hike the Big Bang trail and make a loop using the Lost Burrito trail. Well, that one was lost, alright. Big Bang was pretty well marked- got to the Dry Lake Overlook, and since I didn't do the out and back, got into trouble trying to keep it reasonable to return before dark. Some snow but not enough to obscure markings. After nearly 10 miles and some off trail figuring it out, I made it back to the Schultz Creek parking area. On the plus side, it was enjoyably easy, with a net 1300 ft elevation gain, although pretty mucky from melting snow. Would recommend for a nice walk, if you want to start easy to adjust to elevation. Some rocks and steep downhills, but my own fault for ending up off the trail. Lots of other trails to choose from, too, if you want to go a little shorter.

For an out-of-towner, this trail was a little confusing - even after downloading trail route from MTB Project. But my friend and I were able to figure out a route after a short loop. Great trail for intermediate level MTBers. I rode Schultz Creek Trail on my hardtail. Uphill was a tough, but doable challenge; Downhill was super fun, if a little tricky on some of the rock gardens.

Great trails: I rode chimney up to Moto then back down Moto to AZT then up to the burn zone and back down. I don't think there's any campfires allowed here because of previous fires butt, if you should light a fire of any kind - Even a cigarette. Put it out completely - and take your butts with you 😁

As of now there is major construction going on here. The construction workers put up the orange and/or yellow taping trying to deny access to the area and to the hiking trails. There is spray paint on rocks from construction, massive deforestation everywhere there and you can hear their load beeping machinery digging dragging and dumping up the whole mountain to the peak. Yes great views of Flagstaff, the valley and surrounding mountains but shame on Flagstaff for allowing such careless and reckless...

Absolute blast! This trail was a thrilling ride with a ton of variety. The climbs were challenging and kept my legs pumping. The descents were exhilarating – super fast and chock-full of rocks that kept things interesting. It's definitely a technical trail, so be prepared to navigate your way around a lot of rocks. If you're an experienced rider looking for an adrenaline rush, this trail is for you! Just make sure you have the skills and bike to handle the...
