Awesome when you're by yourself or just a couple of people!

The water really stinks, but still a nice spot to soak. It can become busy during the daytime and even more so on the weekends as it's become more popular. Now some do leave their trash behind so don't be surprised if you see cigarette butts and beer cans or even discarded clothes. Just pack-out what you bring with you. We all live on the same planet.

I love this spot and soaking in the warm water in the winter is so nice. Very picturesque!

NOT for picky or bougie people. Many have only heard of this place via word of mouth and are ill-informed about this place. Some are under the misconception the water is clear and has no smell.

There are three little pools here, with one being so muddy it is not even worth getting in. There is nudity here and people complain about this while turning their heads to the pot smoking and open containers. I would not bring kids here to save a few bucks. If you have noisy kids then just go to Glenwood Springs where there are showers and a better place to swim at.

If you have animals, please keep them on a leash per the sign at the parking spot. No one appreciates an animal going through their stuff and being approached by a barking dog. One time, a lady brought her dog and never paid attention to it until she was called-out on not watching her dog. She couldn't handle this and left soon thereafter. I had to keep throwing mud at an unleased Pomeranian because it kept wanting to go through my backpack while I was soaking. I guess the lady, who was not watching her dog, had a time cleaning her dog when she arrived home.

There were a few who would cry and complain and was glad when they took their complaints with them and left. Many would stop by on their way to distant places only to realize they stink when they get out. Do your research! And why come here to strip to your undergarments with no towel and complain about being wet, stinky, and cold when you get out?

I have been visiting this place since 2018 onward. Hopefully, it will remain free but, from what I hear, Glenwood Springs plans on developing this spot soon and charging people to enter. So, October/November 2024 may be the last time I enjoyed the uniqueness of this place and those that visit it on a...

Please do not listen to any of the reviews saying positive things about this place. I made the same mistake recently and it ended up being one of the most terrifying experiences I’ve ever had. The vibes at this place are DARK and sinister, there’s no other way to put it.

My bf and I went at night, when we pulled up there were 2 other cars parked with people just sitting in them, all lights off. Seemed a little weird but honestly not that big of a deal. We walked the 2 min walk to the hot spring, as soon as we found it we couldn’t tell if anyone was there or not. My bf shined his phone around and we saw a man sitting in the corner with his head down. We said hello but no one responded.

Thought it was a bit creepy but then realized well maybe he’s just here meditating or relaxing on his own… I tried not to be judgmental. I then used my phone light to try and see where to step, I said “sorry for the phone lights!” Out loud, to where the man didn’t respond. A second later I put my light over the hot springs and noticed that he had somehow silently made it across the water, to where he was STANDING THERE RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!!!!!!!!!!! This was absolutely terrifying since he never responded to the first 2 times I tried to speak to him…. And also felt super obvious that he wanted to be quiet and creep up on us.

To be honest I have never felt more creepy vibes in my entire life. My bf and I immediately grabbed our stuff and ran away.

The condition of the water seemed absolutely disgusting, too. Smelled like poop, had blueish tint and gross algae which is toxic. To be honest it looked like some murky porta-potty water and you couldn’t have even paid me to get in.

I just wanted to post this review to warn anyone if ur bored at night in glenwood springs and looking for a hot spring, DO NOT GO HERE. it’s disgusting and the energy is the most unsafe I’ve ever been around. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it for days.

Do not visit this place especially at night or even more especially with kids. It’s not a hot spring. It’s a gross dirty pond filled with human feces and blue algae.

I will never forget this place and how it...

This was an absolutely incredible experience and I can't wait to go again. We went at two separate times, once later in the evening and again earlier in the day. Both times we were able to meet some amazing people who were also traveling or had heard of the place. The second time we were able to have the space for ourselves and skinny dip! There are some wooden planks by the main spring where you can set your things down. The farther pool in the corner surrounded by rocks is the warmest and definitely got hotter than the ouray hot springs! The water is very sulfury and the black mud makes the water turn black too. It's so quiet in this place even though it's just a few miles from the freeway. Take exit 111 and cross over the bridge, go up the mountain till you find find parking turn off and then walk about 2 minutes in the snow, over a little rickety bridge, to some beautiful views. You'll be able to smell the sulfur from your parking spot :) it was pretty clean but if you're like me, bring a trash bag to help clean up the place after....

A great wild hot spring pool. Very warm and hot towards the back! Clear water in the morning before the mud gets stirred up by visitors. There was a local gentleman who is working to dig out another pool. Apparently the original spring was dug and maintained by a local man who is now elderly but continues to maintain the spring. It's a short hike-- up and down and a bit rocky. It's accessible if you are able bodied. Lots of mineral mud to rub on if you are into that. Since it's wild, clothing is optional. There was a nude man that was not shy. That was uncomfortable for me but I enjoyed my soak and it def eased some aches and pains. Will be a regular stop for me when I pass through.

This was one of the highlights of our trip!! I've been wanting to go to a natural hot springs for a while and this was perfect! It was right outside of town, an easy drive to get to. It was a very short walk to the springs, you could see the steam coming up from the road. It was slippery and wet when we went. The views were amazing! The sulpher smell was very mild. There are 2 springs, we went in the smaller one. It was fun getting to do like a mud bath and our skin felt very soft afterwards. The whole spring is warm, but there are definitely hotter spots where the bubbles are coming up. We did not see anyone without clothes on so that was nice. Super fun trip, definitely recommend!!
