Taylor Park Reservoir — Attraction in Four Corners States

We used to go there a lot because it's beautiful. But in recent years it has become a scary place. It's the side by sides and offroad vehicles that make it so bad. We went camping there on the 4th and we got a weird spot next to a tree between two roads. There were at least a hundred buggies that drove through our camp doing like 45 mph. They were doing donuts around our tents and ruined our trip and all of our food. There was like a quarter inch of dirt on everything in our camp. And it could have been avoided if they would just go like an extra 50 feet. I almost got hit several times, and the thing is, we didn't see any law enforcement anywhere? When we were leaving several days later, there was so much trash, that it could have been the city dump. Taylor park used to be one of the most beautiful places...

Gorgeous place for a stop ❤️. I let my dogs off leash so they could run around and play in the water. They had an absolute blast! The scenery was unreal. There were a few people camping, a few ATVs, and some folks on dirt bikes. Everyone was friendly and respectful. 10/10 would make the drive from Denver before snowfall again. Cottonwood Pass is apparently closed during winter, so, plan accordingly. Also, keep checking for updates about toxic algae. There was some in 2022, but not in 2023. It gets cold at 9,000+ feet, so bring a sweater or jacket and pack a lunch if you plan to stay for a while. (It helped to have an off-roading vehicle for the...

But, I find it funny when I see people say they have been coming to Taylor park for over 30 years but then complain about how crowded it has become. What do you think the population is doing all around the world. It is growing and more people want to see the mountains (outdoors) etc...

So more people on the planet but the same amount of land and mountains to look at. So it is just going to get more crowded.......
