If there were more than 5 stars I would give them all!!!!! This is the best place all around I’ve ever been for skiing!! No crowds, no lines, everyone is beyond helpful and friendly, plenty of places to eat on the slopes, plenty of slopes for all levels, and easy easy access to everything!! I can’t say enough good things about all things Telluride Ski. I have to acknowledge a few stand out people, although seriously, everyone was so friendly and so helpful from the ski rental valets to the fitters to the helpful instructors just walking around! The chair lift operators would slow down for the kids (and me!) and were always on it. The bunny slope attendant was so helpful letting me warm up and encouraging me! Pip, the chair lift operator at the Ute Park area, deserves extra acknowledgment!! She was the best in every way. I was terrified of that dang chair lift and she would slow it down to a near stop so I would be successful and literally would cheer for me and ring the bell! My family and I were obsessed with her and her friendliness!! She truly went above and beyond to make my experience soooo special and positive! That was the best day I’ve ever had skiing bc I was able to ski with my family and be successful on the chair lift!! Next, I want to acknowledge Lindsay the instructor (supervisor maybe?) for how wonderful, kind, and encouraging she is. She helped me more than I think she even knew. I was late to my first lesson and very much freaking out with nerves and she walked me over giving me tips along the way. She later helped my daughter and I (her just remembering me was so special and impressive!!). The next day she recognized me as we’re getting into our groups and put me where she knew I could handle. And she was right! I had the best lesson!! That brings me to James and Bill. Bill was my first instructor and gave such great tips and went at my pace and never pushed me. Just what I needed for my first day. He managed our group perfectly, giving attention to everyone at their pace. Then the second day I scored James who challenged me just enough, which was exactly what I needed for that day! He just had me practice over and over and push myself slightly more each time! He’s very calming and mellow. I can not say enough good things about the incredible instructors at Mountain Village!! I wanted them all to see me the third day go on my own with my family!! It was the best feeling and all bc of them!! We will definitely be back as this is one...

Telluride never disappoints. Snow management, grooming, snow making are top notch. The town and Mountain Village are so convenient you don't need a car. The resort has terrain for everybody from multiple magic carpets for beginners to an 8-mile Green run to intermediate, expert and just plain crazy there's something for every skier. No lift lines! Telluride does an amazing job of managing crowds when it's busy, lift operators are cheerful and encouraging and there are typically no lift lines! (avoid Christmas Week and President's Day Weekend)

Accommodations in Telluride offer an option for any budget and any style. New Sheridan Hotel gives it's guests the opportunity to stand where the smugglers and bank robbers of legend stood and sleep in an historic place. Mountainside Inn (ski in ski out on a budget), Victorian Inn (2 minutes on foot to the free gondola) and Viking Inn on the cheap, the beautiful Franz Klammer, The Peaks in Mountain Village and a myriad of options up to multi-million dollar ski in ski out mansions depending on how far your budget can stretch.

Fantastic dining! On mountain food is terrific. I crave Goronno's amazing lunches from home (mid-mountain skier only access). There is a restaurant for everybody, Mexican, steakhouses, Authentic Italian, Thai, various fusion, American, Grills. Check the latest Dining in Telluride. New Sheridan Chop House has fantastic menu, everything is served with a side historical charm. Make your reservations early.

Shopping, Boutiques, Golf, Museums, Events, Nordic skiing, hiking, mountain biking, festivals of every kind make Telluride a year-round destination. This little Victorian Town nestled in a picturesque box canyon offers more and does it better than any other ski destination I've seen, claiming it's rightful place as "The best in the West".

Edit 2022: Not everybody can visit their happy place, but anybody can enjoy mine,...

Ah, Telluride Ski Resort. A veritable jewel nestled in the San Juan Mountains, where the air is crisp, the snow is divine, and the slopes beckon even the most discerning of connoisseurs. I must say, if I were to wax poetic about winter wonderlands, this enchanting locale would be right at the top of my list.

The moment you set foot on these hallowed slopes, you are greeted with a breathtaking panorama that seems to be plucked from the dreams of an artist. The powder here? Pure, unadulterated bliss. It glistens like fresh diamonds, waiting to be carved with reckless abandon. The terrain caters to every level of expertise, from the timid novice to the audacious daredevil — all welcomed with open arms.

And let us not forget the après-ski scene, which, I assure you, is nothing short of sublime. Cozy up next to a roaring fire with a glass of something delightful — perhaps a fine cabernet, or if you're feeling particularly adventurous, a warm shot of bourbon — while the day’s exploits are recounted with enthusiasm that rivals a Shakespearean drama.

In every corner, one can find the kind of charm that turns mere visitors into lifelong devotees. The locals are as warm and welcoming as the fires they stoke, ready to regale you with stories of the mountain and its many secrets.

So, if you find yourself yearning for an escape into the majestic, remember this: Telluride isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience — one that will leave an indelible mark on your soul. Five...
