Enjoy! ~PAM TIP #1: Wear flat shoes, after all this is a Farmer's field with divets. TIP #2: Wear layers of clothing, the wind can be a little chilly. FALL 2020 The Hubby and I spent a beautiful Fall afternoon at Richardson Farm. Richardson Farm (RF) is home to the "World's Largest Corn Maze"! This was my 2nd time and the Hubby's 1st time. Each year RF has a different "theme". This Year it was celebrating Earth Day which is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary. There are 24 check points located in the maze. Once you find the check point, you punch a hole in your Map Card. It looks like it would be easy but, once you enter the maze, you are surrounded by tall corn stalks. There are 3 bridges located in the Maze which will give you an overall view of just how large the Maze is. There are TONS of things to do at RF: hop aboard for a train ride, jump on giant trampolines, hayrides, pumpkins, fudge and kettle corn to buy. You can enjoy a caramel apple sundae while sipping a hot chocolate or munch on an apple donut. Do not miss the squealing pig races, they are so cute!!! This can be a few hours of activity or an all day event. I recommend staying the entire day to soak up the sun and breathe fresh air :) RF is open Thursday - Sunday. We bought our tickets online. There is no charge for parking. We did wear our masks and practiced social distancing. The Maze is open late however, it does get dark so, bring your flashlights. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWONDERLAND!! šā„ļø Someone said this was Disneyland farm edition and they were so right!! I have no kids but my husband and I enjoyed this place so much. Itās super pet friendly so bring your dogs for sure. Entry is $30 for adults. The corn maze is super fun, get maps per person before entering so you donāt have to share, also pick up cards for other games within the maze if you want those are fun too. The maze is quite a bit of walk so sneak-up and allocate ~2 hours for the maze only! They have a mini maze and mini zip-line for kids. The petting zoo is super cute, they have baby piglets, baby goats, baby cows, baby chicks all the cuteness! You can feed the goats but you need quarters for the feed machines so bring coins. They have barrels that you can roll around or in. They have corn launchers and paintball shooting. They also have a tower to smash a pumpkin down from, called the pumpkin chunkin. Forget youāre a fully grown adult and do the train ride, the big hillside slide and even the carousel ride you will not regret any of them. You can also zip-line across the property or get in one of those big clear balloons to roll down a hill, these two cost extra. We stopped at the sunflower field too but they weāre looking down and half dead looking so we didnāt spend much time there. There were a good selection of food burgers, hot dogs, poutine, two taco stands, donuts, popcorn, cotton candy, candied nuts, fudge, hot chocolate, lemon shake and more. We tried the Pixie Dawgās polish sausages they were fire. You can buy some draft beer, mini bottles of wine and cups of hot apple cider with a shot of rum in them as adult drinks. The gift shop has a wine tasting area and they have some fun fruit wines, definitely do the wine tasting and buy the bottle you like ($16/bottle). The staff here are super sweet and friendly, we felt right at home and we are coming back next year or the next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a family favorite. We've been visiting for years and this has easily become a family tradition.
Richardson's Adventure Farm gives a 10% military discount. As an Army Soldier, I appreciate the discount this family owned small business gives.
There is so much to do there that you could easily spend a weekend there. There is a huge slide, giant bouncing pillow, zip line, hay rides and so much more. If you have children, this is the place to be. And I haven't even mentioned the best part... the corn maze!
Each year, Richardson's creates a new corn maze based off of something unique for that year. Whether its the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts or the 50th anniversary of when Star Trek premiered, there is always something special about their corn maze. My family and I wait until dark and forge our way through the maze to 24 unique points punching our maze map at each one. At the end we get a certificate of completion to add to our collection. My children are getting to the age where they are navigating now and this is always the highlight of our trip there.
And then there are the snacks. My family loves the apple cider donuts and we buy them by the dozen. They have caramel corn, homemade fudge, hot cocoa, hot apple cider, kettle corn, carmel apples, funnel cakes and even dinner items. Their latest addition is a wine bar. You can try some wines from local vineyards before you buy them. I recommend you buy the honey apple crisp wine (but not until I've restocked my supply).
Honestly, I could talk about this place for hours. We have so many amazing memories here and look forward to years of...
