Easily the best park in the Plano/Sandwich area. Has lots of beautiful paths to walk on. There is more than enough water for fishing, with a couple small lakes or large ponds π€·ββοΈ. I've seen people on kayaks and small boats. The Wildlife is very abundant aswell! I see frogs and turtle's consistently. You can see some fairly large fish thru the clear water also. There are plenty of geese aswell, they seem to get kinda defensive latley. They must have had goslings (not sure on spelling there) with them, who knows just be aware! There is a couple of park entrances one on the east side of the large pond/lake and one on the west side. The west side entrance has a small playground up at the front gate along with a "shelter" for party and what knot. Going all the way down and around thru the pretty driveway, you'll start to follow the Fox River for a bit. On the left side there will be some swampy areas and some wooded paths that are a nice relaxing hike. There will also be another playground and lots of park benches and some more "shelters" for get togethers. If I recall there is a couple bathrooms to. It's a nice place to spend a couple of hours, just hiking, sitting and reading, fishing, exercising...whatever fits your fancy you should have a nice time here. I bring my disc golf basket now and then to enjoy the nature as I practice. I couldn't recommend it more. Please enjoy some of the photos I've taken. π

Its a great place to be, with your family, for a couple, or alone, we rowed a boat for half hour that cost 10$ to exercise our arms, then pedaled for another half hour to exercise our legs that cost 10$ original price but the sweet lady gave us a discount of 5$ ππ₯°, it includes life jacket and a weasel, we brought bottled water and umbrella, why umbrella oh well we pedaled in the middle and chill out admiring nature feeling the cool breeze #Perfectπππ ,we saw other people fishing alone or with the family on the side, and some other family kayaking, we actually plan on hiking but we saw this awesome #LoonLake ^^ we saw also the picnic area with the picnic table and chair and some have near sockets to plug but we forgot to ask if we are allowed to use it to charge^^. The staffs have mask on and they will not entertain you if you dont have it on too. Its such a great experience.

Lots of parking. Walked on a fairly busy Sunday. Trails had minimal elevation gain. We parked in the Loon lake lot and walked about .2 miles to the spring. It was an easy hike. We then topped it off with a mile walk around the lake. This was an easy trail with minimal elevation gain. Extremely peaceful and beautiful. Traffic picked up around 11. It became pretty busy. I recommend early mornings on weekends.

Poorly managed this gemstone. While an ideal place for fishermen administration fails to make this park a welcoming heaven for future generations. No recycling bins, no information about fauna in the park or about pathways markings, poorly maintained bathrooms and only two - no flush - open in January. Small parking for buses.Old trees or suffocating vines not trimmed or removed
