Ok so we went and did the little 1.5 mile loop today and it was a beautiful trail, beautiful nature but OMG the bugs were horrible. We’ve done a lot of hiking in our time but have never seen something as bad as this was today. Now I don’t know if it is like this all the time but if so we would never hike this place. We are from Florida and have never been attached by bugs as bad. It was so thick that you were getting them in your mouth. Will not go back here. It was clean and it was close to the camp site we are on. You can also ride your bike on it as well. Great but the bugs now was

Enjoyed this state park. Some nice pictures of sunset lake and the upper dam. The primary trails were well marked, but some of the side trails were hard to follow. My map from DCR website did not have the color coding (red-green-yellow) for the trails, but the on site maps identified. Also liked the history of the trails with the CCC. Easy access also, close to the highway.

I only give it 4 stars cuz it was a little bit more challenging than what I thought and what I thought I saw posted. Really nice area for hiking and biking if you're up to the trails which are Rocky and very root-ridden. It was still a good day we rode around the forest tried a couple trails it had fun. Nice place.

Beautiful place, easy to navigate, awesome trails. The red blazed trail and the green blazed trail are both awesome for an easy to intermediate hike! My girlfriend and I are both new to hiking, and found these were challenging but felt safe during them, apart from a few run-ins with snakes. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful and serene. Went there on a recommendation and I must say some spots are so calming that I spent almost an hour. Various options for people looking for trails. Limited parking available. I noticed barbeque grills and benches too. Good place for bicycle riders. I would definitely recommend.

Good intermediate trails. Lots of roots and rocks. Many different trails to explore. A fair amount is marked and a fair amount is not. Use of a good trail app is recommended IMO. Entrance has decent parking with a restroom/outhouse 🚻. Found many interesting mushrooms along the trails.
