Accessed via Appalachian Trail. Nice heights and view when climbing the tower. Unfortunately you can't quite make it to the top unless the ranger is up there working - as it is locked. It's always crazy windy at the top, so if you go in the fall or later it will be freezing.

Great tower with excellent views. Steps are metal grates. They are very solid and safe but you can see through them to the ground. It may be dizzying for people who are scared of heights.

Nice hike from the parking lot to the tower. The trail is very rocky. I'm glad I wore boots that supported my ankles, but I wish I had worn my knee brace.

You can get up here using the Tower Trail. You can cut half of the trail out (which I suggest if you're not a seasoned hiker because the main climb up is INTENSE.) if you drive down Sunrise Mountain Road until you see the trail sign - you can't miss it. You can park on the right side of the road. Be warned that the climb up the mountain is an actual climb. It's rough and though. You will literally be scaling large boulders which can be quite slippery. Bring PLENTY of water. It's not for the weak but if you can make it, its SO worth it. The views from the top are amazing and the views from the tower (which you are not supposed to climb) are even better. It's truly breath taking. There's a little picnic table up at...

Looks the tower trail up with scouts. It was a nice vertical scramble along switch back trails. One of the tougher trails in the park. Had to have the scouts help each other up a few parts over rocks. It was muddy from recent rain so they were slipping. They all made it and all said the view was worth it. Took a little over an hour to get from parking lot to top of...

Just finished a 3 Day on the AT, Passed the Fire Tower, Really Disappointed. Some Guys had a Huge Tent a Generator Wires all over the place. They placed the table with donuts and drinks right there. We Passed by Didn't even say Hello. View wasn't anything special especially with a Huge Tent in the way lost my baring for minute to find the...
