We (a group from the Frankfort Class of 1983) did a one mile walking tour of the TPA Park this past Saturday and found it so clean and enjoyable. There are a couple of different paths you can take to see different things but we enjoyed checking out the new and AMAZING pool area with cabanas and lots of fun things for people to play on in the water! We also liked seeing the very friendly (and flirtatious) birds! It was hilarious to listen to the 'cat calls'! We also walked around the outside of the petting zoo area and the animals all seemed healthy and happy. There are some new 'toys' at the park that were not there when we were kids so it was nice to see them. The pickleball and tennis courts are finished and SO beautiful! Our schedule was too full or we would have set up some kind of tournament using that great space!
On Sunday we booked Pavilion 5 for a picnic. It was large and the parking and grass area around were well cared for. The park has so much to offer and the staff at the park office are so accommodating and helpful! Thank you Frankfort for making this such a lovely space! Teri...
Read moreI came to the park for the Fourth of the July festivities and the park was nicely set up. However, I was really disappointed to see so many different kinds of animals kept in the same space at the “petting zoo.” There did not seem to be any kind of regulation as far as how many people were allowed inside the enclosures. Children and teenagers were chasing the poor deer locked up in the cage and they looked desperate to get away. The lemurs looked so sad locked up in such a small space. Why do you have ring-tailed lemurs in a small park in central Indiana in the first place? There was also a fennec fox locked up in a small enclosure. Not to mention, all the fish in the aviary pond were up against the edge because the sunlight and heat were way too much for them. If you’re going to have an attraction like this, at least do it right. My heart was breaking for these poor animals. They aren’t your props to show off, they are living creatures. If it was up to me, this place would be shut...
Read moreSapphire Bay is a great waterpark. It has two different body slides, a tube slide which I recommend going backwards down, obstacle pads with net, splash area with kids slide, zero depth entry, a baby/toddler area with blocked access to bigger pool for safety, there is a bench in the water for sitting with a good view of pool/kid area, lazy river has a dry section or a get wet section which is awesome. There is a sitting area in middle of lazy river. There is a few shaded areas with seating with many more around pool. Cabanas for rent. Has a nice concession stand and eating area. Clean bathrooms and family bathrooms. This waterpark is big enough for everyone to have fun but small enough to easily keep an eye on kids. The playground is fun as well and has a nice zipline swing. Kids love the free animal area where you can feed animals for .25. Also don't miss the bird aviary with one or two that talk. The white one says...
