On a recent visit to the the greene county historical society , we entered the house and were directed via a sign to start our tour in the gift shop. There was no sign reminding visitors to wear a mask. When we walked to the gift shop room , there were 3 employees sitting and standing around a desk. Laughing and talking loudly and not wearing masks. We turned around to leave immediately. As we were exiting the front door ,we noticed the youngest employee had followed us asking how she could help us. At this point she had decided to put on a mask , but not before. So disgusting and disappointing that a facility who represents a Pennsylvania county , isnt following the simple mandate. I imagine they get some federal funding and dont deserve it if they can't do something as simple as keeping the public safe ! If you care about science and safety , don't waste your gas or time...

Janice was such a gracious host and answered all of our questions, and elaborated on the fascinating history of the museum building and grounds. The museum is huge, the buildings are like walking back in time. All the exhibits and artifacts brought history to life. And they give an honest, accurate depiction of the life of the building which wasn't always rosey. But to live a better future, we need to learn from the past. We highly recommend a visit here to learn the history of Greene County...

They have the actual original furniture and pieces that were to this building.
